Join Freedom Technology Solutions Group as a Test Engineer and help shape the future of geospatial technology. Working within our DevOps team, you'll ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of innovative geospatial applications and Java microservices. Partner with developers, drive automation, uncover critical issues before release, and make a direct impact on mission-critical solutions.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and execute test strategies for geospatial applications and Java microservices
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks for efficient regression testing
  • Perform hands-on testing of advanced geospatial analysis and visualization capabilities
  • Identify, track, and help resolve software defects
  • Conduct performance testing to optimize application and microservice performance
  • Collaborate closely with developers to champion quality throughout the development lifecycle
  • Drive continuous improvement through testing best practices and emerging technologies

Required:
  • Active security clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, with 0-2 years of software testing or quality assurance experience.
  • Knowledge of software testing fundamentals, including test planning, test case development, defect tracking, regression testing, and validation of functional requirements.
  • Experience with Python scripting for test automation, data validation, or process improvement, and a willingness to learn and develop automated testing solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

Desired:
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks such as PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, or REST Assured.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Git, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of Agile software development practices, including participation in Scrum and Kanban teams.
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix operating systems and basic command-line scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of SQL and database testing concepts, including creating and executing queries for data validation.
  • Interest or coursework in geospatial technologies, GIS applications, or mapping technologies.
  • Security+ certification or ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering high-quality software products.


The estimated salary range for this position is between $110,000.00 and $140,000.00 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by several factors, such as location, the individual's education, skills, experience, and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organizational needs.
