Responsibilities

  • Proactively research and source private equity fund opportunities.
  • Evaluate inbound and outbound fund opportunities, working with the investment team on data collection and organization.
  • Conduct due diligence on fund managers and lead quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Organize and present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee and clients.
  • Collaborate with advisory clients to achieve their strategy and asset allocations.

Full Job Description
As an integral senior member of the Primary Fund Investment Team, this individual will be expected to apply their skills towards assisting the construction and oversight of the Firm's comingled multi-manager vehicle as well as separate account portfolios and actively participate in investment due diligence, performance monitoring and helping source equity co-investments, secondaries and direct credit opportunities for the broader investment platform. The position offers a rigorous learning experience and exposure to the institutional investment management industry, including the various areas within private equity - Buyout, Venture Capital / Growth Equity and Special Situations - across both established and emerging managers.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE IS EXPECTED TO:

- Proactively research and source private equity fund opportunities through industry databases and personal networks as well as the Firm's internal CRM system

- Evaluate all inbound and outbound fund opportunities and work with fellow investment team members in the collection, organization, and tracking of data, materials, and other information used in the investment evaluation and due diligence process

- Conduct due diligence on existing and prospective fund managers, and play a lead role in the quantitative and qualitative analysis

- Organize and present recommendations to the Firm's Investment Committee, as well as separate account clients

- Work with advisory clients to execute on their stated strategy and asset allocation targets

- Work with sponsors to strengthen relationships to source equity co-investment, secondaries and direct credit opportunities for the broader platform

- Participate in marketing the Primary business to existing and potential new comingled fund investors and separate account clients

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Future Standard seeks candidates with a proven track record of academic and professional success, including:

- Up to 5 years of professional experience, with 1-3 years of relevant primary fund underwriting experience.

- Ability to perform manager research and peer group analysis, underwriting, and due diligence of investment managers, as well as the ability to formulate due diligence plans, including onsite agendas and quantitative data requests

- Strong analytical and financial analysis skills (including basic financial modeling), as well as exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

- Effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining attention to detail

- A proactive, entrepreneurial spirit with proven leadership experience

- A high level of professionalism, maturity, reliability, and attentiveness to detail

- A positive, flexible and team-oriented attitude as Future Standard fosters a collaborative culture

- Willingness to travel a few days per month, primarily domestically

- Excellent academic credentials, including a BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting
