Position Summary:The
Associate Specialist, TAG plays a supporting role in supporting the development, optimization, and formulation of various products across multiple formats to support the Nestlé Nutrition and Health portfolio.
This role is focused on learning and supporting technical activities, such as collecting, evaluating, analyzing, and summarizing data; executing tasks & activities; and assisting with pilot plant trials and product development related issues that may arise. It is expected that the individual demonstrates a high level of curiosity and commitment to self-development. Additionally, the Associate Specialist supports the evaluation of ingredients & formulation changes through organoleptic and physical analysis, ensures compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, & safety standards, as well as prepares accurate reports to document findings and recommendations.
Location: This is an onsite position based at our
Nestlé Development Center (NDC) Bridgewater, New Jersey site Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:- Serve as point of contact for NDC Bridgewater pilot plant related activities associated with TAG trials
- Support, monitor, and collaborate with NDC Bridgewater Pilot Plant team to execute TAG pilot plant trials with excellence
- Assist in product development projects of low complexity, under the guidance of the Manager or Supervisor
- Support the development of Design of Experiment (DOE) for benchtop formulations to support I&R initiatives
- Arranges sensory panels to evaluate ingredients and prototypes while summarizing key findings for review
- Collect, analyze, and summarize technical data and subsequently prepare clear and accurate technical reports
- Maintain accurate data records of all pilot plant associated activities related to TAG trials in the NDC Bridgewater Pilot Plant
- Support the development and maintenance of technical documentation; including NesTMS (Nestle Trial Management System) trial protocols and corresponding analysis requests
- Support the execution of the Technical Acceptance Process, and other requirements to effectively commercialize new and improved product renovations
- Maintain accurate laboratory stability and trial records and ensures laboratory equipment and workspaces are properly maintained
- Evaluate and share emerging scientific insights, technologies, ingredients, and industry trends with the TAG team
- Engage in project meetings with cross-functional teams to support timely achievement of project milestones
- Coordinate change control activities, Product Quote Requests, and Master Batch Record approvals, tracking projects through completion
- Partner with Quality, Procurement, Nutrition, and Operations teams to ensure projects progress effectively and comply with company policies, quality standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
- Support dispatches of ingredients and other project related shipments as needed
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific field
- Experience supporting manufacturing environments, including formulation, process improvement, troubleshooting, and commercialization activities via an internship or Co-op is preferred
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting with experimental skills, including data collection, basic analysis, and preparation of written and verbal reports
- Knowledge of cGMPs, quality systems, documentation practices, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency using data analysis, reporting, and document management systems
- Basic level of sensory proficiency
- Effective achieving individual results and meeting deadlines, working collaboratively with others
- Ability to maintain effectiveness during major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to within new work structures, process, requirements or cultures
