Associate / Senior Associate, M&A Advisory

Compensation:$75,000- $95,000/year

Location:Vancouver, BC

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

This role is based in ourDowntown Vancouver office, with the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment following the completion of the probationary period.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will supporta rangeof M&A engagements, including businesssale processes, acquisition advisory,financial modelling,valuation analysis, buyer research, transaction marketing materials, due diligence coordination,quality of earnings-style analysis,and relatedtransaction support. Our recent work mix has tended to include more sell-sideadvisory, but the role will be responsive to the needs of the group and the transactions we are engaged on.

In this role, you will:

  • Assistwith the execution of M&A advisory and transaction support engagements, including sell-side mandates, acquisition advisory, due diligence, financial modelling, and related work.

  • Prepare and analyze financial models, valuation analyses, comparable company data, precedent transaction data, and other financial analysis.

  • Review and analyze financial statements, management reporting, working capital trends, earnings quality, and key business drivers.

  • Assistwith the preparation of confidential information memorandums, teasers, management presentations, buyer lists, and other transaction materials.

  • Conduct industry, market, company, and buyer research to support transaction strategy and client deliverables.

  • Support due diligence processes, including data room organization, information requests, buyer questions, quality of earnings-style analysis, and coordination with clients and other advisors.

  • Participate in client meetings, management discussions, internal deal discussions, and business development initiatives.

  • Work collaboratively with partners, managers, and other team members to deliver high-quality, practical advice to clients.


What You Bring

  • Two to three years of experience in public practice, corporate finance, M&A advisory, transaction services, valuations, audit, accounting, or another financial analysis-focused role.

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, commerce, business, economics, or a related field.

  • CPA designation, progress toward a CPA designation, or interest in pursuing a CFA or CBV designation is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting concepts, business drivers, and financial analysis.

  • Experience with Excel-based financial modelling and analysis. Experience with valuation, transaction, or quality of earnings analysis is an asset.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and professional client-facing materials.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

  • A practical, curious, and client-focused approach to problem solving.

  • Commercial curiosity, sound judgment, and comfort working through ambiguity in a transaction-focused environment.

  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Ability to work from our Downtown Vancouver office, with a hybrid schedule available following probation.

  • Availability to work additional hours during peak periods.
