Job Overview Snapdragon Chemistry is currently seeking exceptional candidates for its Associate Scientist / Senior Associate Scientist position in its Waltham, MA site. A successful candidate will be joining a group of innovative and entrepreneurial scientists, with broad deliverables including the design of synthetic routes amenable to continuous flow processing, the development of reactor systems incorporating cutting-edge analytical and automation technologies, and delivering high quality, complex chemical matter to our clients. We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in chemistry with experience in the development of new synthetic methods and the principles of physical organic chemistry. The candidate should have experience in using kinetic analysis and other experimental tools to determine reaction mechanism. Experience with the development of reactions in flow is preferred but not required. Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills. Responsibilities

• Support peptide synthesis process development using SDC's in-house built Automated Liquid Phase Peptide Synthesis (AutoLPPS) platform
• Synthesize peptides using industry standard automated Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS) reactors
• Maintain and improve automated reactor systems and workflows
• Implement and develop tools for fast and efficient data analysis for automated experiments

Qualifications/Skills

• Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC and NMR
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be creative and innovative, and work productively and efficiently in the laboratory
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent collaboration skills, team oriented and invested in the success of others
• Ability to celebrate differences and encourage scientific openness and frank discussion

• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in peptide synthesis and basic programming knowledge

Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements

• B. S. or equivalent in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or expected to receive within two months
• 0-2 years' experience in organic process research and development

The estimated salary range of $70,000 - $78,000 reflects an anticipated range for the Associate Scientist position. The estimated salary range of $74,000 - $92,000 reflects an anticipated range for the Senior Associate Scientist position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
