Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct ligand binding assays and qPCR to analyze proteins and RNA from plasma and tissues.
  • Develop and troubleshoot LBA and qPCR methods with guidance from senior scientists.
  • Provide detailed bioanalytical support focusing on pharmacokinetic (PK) and toxicokinetic (TK) assessments.
  • Present experimental results to the pre-clinical team and maintain detailed experimental records.

Full Job Description
Orna Therapeutics, Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and company is a biotechnology company pioneering innovative treatments for diseases that current therapies cannot effectively address. Employing groundbreaking circular RNA (circRNA) technology, along with proprietary lipid nanoparticles designed to selectively target T cells, Orna is advancing a new generation of RNA-based therapeutics. The company is focused on developing best-in-class treatments for autoimmune and oncology indications, including systemic lupus erythematosus, B-cell lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. We are looking for a motivated Senior scientist to join the bioanalysis team and support nonclinical studies for the company's diverse programs. Role is 100% lab-based work. The individual will actively take part in developing ligand binding assay (LBA) and PCR assays in guidance with scientists, perform sample testing and present results in team meetings. In this role you would have the opportunity to work with vibrant multi-disciplinary teams.

What You'll Do
  • Tissue processing from mice, rat and NHP invivo studies for RNA and protein extraction.
  • Independently implement LBA and qPCR to measure large molecules such as protein and RNA from plasma and tissues samples.
  • Perform method development and trouble shooting on LBA and qPCR-based assay with guidance.
  • Provide high quality bioanalytical support with a focus on quantifications for PK, TK, PD assessment
  • Deliver and present the experimental results to pre-clinical team
  • Maintain detailed experimental protocols, electronic laboratory notebook


Basic Qualifications
  • BS with 0-4+ years of related industrial or academia experience, or MS with 0-2+ years of related industrial or academia experience.
  • Major in biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical science or related fields

Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Experience and knowledge in RT-QPCR, ddPCR, bDNA and Ligand binding assay
  • Performing data analysis using excel and GraphPad prism.
  • Experience with Ligand binding assays on Luminex and MSD platform
  • Experience in tissue sample processing is a plus

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$71,250 - $187,000

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
