About this role

What we're looking for:

We need someone with 3-5 years of transactional affordable housing or LIHTC experience at a law firm who can take deal ownership quickly. You should be comfortable drafting and negotiating complex real estate transaction documents and have a track record of closing multi-layered financing deals. Bonus points if you have broader commercial real estate transactional experience.

What you'll do:
  • Own the center of affordable housing transactions - drafting, editing, and managing execution on acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and multi-layered LIHTC financing structures
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, loan documents, and organizational documents
  • Work closely with partners and counsel in a flat, collaborative deal-team structure to move transactions from signing through closing
  • Manage deal timelines and coordinate with multiple parties across complex, multi-source financing structures involving tax-exempt bonds and tax credit programs
  • Receive direct mentorship from Elior Cohen, one of the most recognized names in affordable housing law, and participate in weekly training sessions
  • Contribute to a fast-growing firm (6 16 16 people in ~16 months) doing sophisticated, mission-driven work that creates affordable housing
