Amgen is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join the Protein Therapeutics (PT) - Protein Chemistry team. PT is a multidisciplinary team with broad capabilities in protein engineering, expression, purification, and characterization. We are responsible for the engineering, production, assessment, and final selection of large molecule drug candidates that advance to Process Development.
In this role, you will support the analysis and characterization of large molecule, therapeutic drug candidates, many of which are complex biologics.
Responsibilities:- Analyzing and characterizing novel and complex molecules that will be the next generation of large molecule therapeutics.
- Contributing to the execution of our analytics, molecular assessment, and protein purification capabilities.
- Organizing, analyzing, and reporting findings to support lead candidate selection.
- Partnering with Project, Analytics and Automation teams to advance our pipeline.

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in life sciences.
OR
Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant scientific experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 4 years of protein purification, and/or protein analytics experience.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving.
- Experience with protein analytics fundamentals, techniques, instrumentation, software.
- Familiarity with protein purification fundamentals and techniques.
- Familiarity with handling and analyzing large datasets.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
