About the Role: Omidyar Network offers a unique platform for early career professionals to work alongside our colleagues and network partners. Omidyar Network Associates play a critical role in our work and gain valuable experience and exposure across our programmatic areas. They help identify and scope new portfolio investments, learn about and support the grantmaking process, research emerging issues and potential areas of programmatic engagement, and collaborate with our grantees and network partners in coalitions, policy and advocacy. Associates gain meaningful, hands-on experience in the philanthropic sphere, while working with a collaborative, high-trust team. Our Associates join from a range of backgrounds, including policy and advocacy, venture capital, communications, consulting, nonprofits, and more.
Our Associates are embedded in our Programs and Policy team, reporting to a Director.
How You'll Contribute to our Impact: - Grants Management
- Facilitate the discovery and due diligence process of prospective grantees
- End-to-end execution, monitoring and support of grant lifecycle, including collating relevant materials for diligence and reporting, and tracking correspondence
- Partner with our Portfolio Insights and Engagement staff to improve existing grantmaking processes and apply learnings
- Program Administration
- Maintain internal project management infrastructure to ensure robust knowledge management for assigned portfolio(s)
- Support team leads with program management, including stakeholder management, learning discussions and meetings, and coordination.
- Relationship Management and Partnerships Support
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for grantees, partners, and other external stakeholders
- Represent Omidyar Network at public events, as needed
- Engage diverse voices and coalitions to identify learnings from Omidyar Network's programmatic work to inform our current partnerships
- Research
- Conduct research on emerging issues and potential areas of programmatic engagement, as needed
- Maintain a pulse on issues related to emerging digital technology, spot and raise trends
Location: This is a
hybrid role, with employees working in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This position will be based out of our Washington, DC or San Francisco office. Employees must reside within 100 miles of their assigned office location. Candidates must have a current U.S. work authorization to be considered.
Compensation: This is a
three-year (3) fixed-term full-time, salaried position that features competitive pay and benefits, including health care (medical/dental/vision), paid time off, and a generous employer 401k contribution. The salary range for this role is $93,800 - $117,300 in San Francisco and $84,500 - $105,600 in Washington, DC. ON manages pay equity seriously and new hires generally start at the midpoint of this range.

- 2-3 years of relevant full-time work experience. Prior experience in tech policy, AI tech or governance, competition, labor and future of work, advocacy and campaigns, tech equity, privacy and safety, a plus.
- Excellent research, analysis, problem solving, and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills, with an attention to detail and ability to track and execute multiple projects at once.
- A creative, curious, and an entrepreneurial spiritwith a high degree of comfort with change and ambiguity.
- High degree of comfort working autonomously on projects and tasks, as well as collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
- A team-first mindset and an enthusiasm for learning.
