Job Description

We have an opening for an AssociateProgram Leader for Software Strategy for the Infrastructure Applications Program (IAP). This position will support software delivery, stakeholder coordination, and program execution intheIAPProgram.The Associate Program Leader for Software Strategy role serves as a key technical leader responsible for advancing programobjectivesthrough strategic planning, technical innovation, and cross-organizational collaboration. This role partners with program leadership to guide technical direction, develop new opportunities, and ensure successful execution of initiatives that strengthen mission impact and organizational capabilities.This position is in the Applications, Simulations and Quality (ASQ) Division within the Computing Directorate.

This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.

You will
  • Partner withthe IAPProgramLeader, DeputyProgramLeader, andPrincipalDataOfficerto provide technical leadership and support thesuccessfulexecution of program objectives and initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of relevant technologies, software development practices, and emerging industry trends to help inform technical direction and decision-making.
  • Evaluatetechnical solutions that improve program capabilities, efficiency, and mission impact.
  • Collaborate with IAP leadership and project teams to providestrategicvision and develop technical roadmap aligned withNNSAHeadquartersand LLNL mission requirements and priorities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to align technicalactivities, priorities, and resources while helpingidentifyand mitigate technical risks.
  • Support cross-organizational technical collaborations by sharing knowledge, coordinating efforts, andleveragingexpertiseacross teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff, promoting best practices, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
  • Contributes to the identification and evaluation of emerging technologies and innovation opportunities that can advance program goals and future capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain andmaintaina US DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's Degree in ComputerScience,ComputerEngineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Demonstrated technicalexpertisein software engineering, systems engineeringor related technical discipline.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and organizational boundaries.
  • Experience leading or contributing to complex technical projects, including planning,executionand delivery of successful outcomes.
  • Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and apply technical knowledge to solve challenging problems and improve program capabilities.
  • Experienceprovidingtechnical guidance and mentoring engineers and developers.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical priorities, stakeholder needs, and programobjectivesin a dynamic environment.

Qualifications We Desire
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams, organizations, and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience supporting software development or scientific computing organizations in a national laboratory, research, or federally funded environment.
  • Experienceidentifying, evaluating, and applying emerging technologies and innovative approaches to address complex technical and mission challenges.
  • Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional initiatives that require coordination among technical, operational, and programmatic stakeholders.

Pay Range

$175,530 - $222,564 Annually for the SES.3 level

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
