Full Job Description
Eaton's Industrial Controls Division (ICD) is currently seeking an Associate Product Manager - Soft Starters to join the team. This is a remote role based in the US with approximately 25% travel. Preferred locations include Raleigh, NC; Beachwood, OH; Moon Township, PA or Menomonee Falls, WI.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year.

What you'll do:

Industrial Controls Division (ICD) is undergoing a significant transformation, and product management plays a critical role in translating market opportunities into product strategies that drive profitable growth, strengthen competitive position, and improve customer outcomes. The Associate Product Manager, Soft Starters serves as the business owner for the product family, responsible for defining and executing the product strategy, roadmap, and growth initiatives that drive product family performance.

The Product Manager partners across functions to identify growth opportunities, prioritize investments, and improve business results through a deep understanding of customer, market, competitive, and financial dynamics. This role leverages market trends and customer needs to develop and execute differentiated solutions that drive sales growth, profitability, and long-term business value.

Essential Functions:
  • Product Strategy: Develop and execute the product family strategic plan and roadmap aligned with division objectives and market opportunities. Drive Voice of Customer (VoC) and market research activities to identify unmet needs, validate market opportunities, and influence product strategy and investment decisions. Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and emerging technologies to identify risks, opportunities, and product differentiation strategies.


  • Business Performance: Deliver product family objectives for orders, sales, margin, share, and price realization while maintaining accurate forecasts. Analyze product family performance, including sales, pricing, margin, and costs to identify actions that improve business results. Develop business cases and investment recommendations supporting growth initiatives, product expansion, and new product development.


  • Portfolio Management: Develop and execute pricing, positioning, and value proposition strategies to improve competitiveness, profitability, and market share. Lead product lifecycle management, including new product development, product enhancements, launches, rationalization, and obsolescence decisions. Partner across functions (e.g., sales, engineering, finance, operations, etc.) to execute roadmap priorities, remove barriers, and achieve business objectives.


  • Commercialization: Lead the development of sales enablement content and training programs that support commercialization and market adoption. Represent the product family with customers, channel partners, field sales, and industry stakeholders to strengthen market position, support commercialization, and drive business growth.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of product management, marketing or sales experience in the industrial control or electrical products market.
  • Experience using financial, market, customer, and competitive data to develop business recommendations
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including forecasting, pricing, margin management, and business case development

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Business or technical degree (e.g., MBA, MS in Engineering, etc.)
  • Experience in VFD, industrial automation, motor control, motion control, power electronics, or related industrial markets
  • Knowledge of industrial and OEM markets, applications, and key customer segments
  • Demonstrated success driving profitable growth, margin expansion, market share gains, or new product adoption
  • Experience conducting VoC, market segmentation, and opportunity assessment activities
  • Pragmatic Institute certification or formal product management training
  • Demonstrated success presenting recommendations and influencing decisions at executive leadership levels
