Full Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN

The Associate Product Manager program at Scan.com is designed for people who are early in their product careers but not early in their product thinking. If you are one to four years into your professional career, whether that time was spent in a product role or in an adjacent discipline you are now pivoting from, and you have spent serious time developing the craft, this program is built for you.

As an APM at Scan.com, you will be embedded on a product team from day one, working across the surface of our business: marketplace, integrations, provider tools, patient experience, and the AI-driven internal systems that increasingly power all of it. Some of the things you will get involved in:
  • Own a defined slice of a product team's roadmap under the guidance of a senior PM, taking work from problem discovery through shipped outcomes
  • Write PRDs, run discovery and user research, and partner with engineering, design, and operations to translate ambiguous problems into concrete product decisions
  • Contribute to prioritization and roadmap conversations
  • Instrument what you ship, track outcomes rigorously, and close the loop between what launched and what changed
  • Use AI as a first-class instrument across the full PM workflow, including discovery synthesis, data analysis, PRD drafting, prototype exploration, competitive analysis, and quality evaluation.
  • Develop deep substance in healthtech and medical imaging, building the informed product judgment that separates competent PMs from great ones in this domain
  • Grow into full PM ownership over the course of the program, with a clear line of sight to the next role
WHAT WE ARE INVESTING IN YOU

Our APM program prioritizes accelerating your career growth. We do this by giving you:
  • Healthtech and imaging context. You will get structured onboarding to the substance of the domain: how radiology works, how imaging centers operate, how the referral economy functions, and case studies of successful B2B and B2C healthtech companies.
  • Product coaching. You will receive consistent coaching from senior product leaders, focused on the specific gaps in your craft. Expect regular pairing sessions with senior pms with independent time in between sessions to master various skills.
  • An accelerated growth plan. The program is designed to compress the path from Associate to senior product ownership. We will invest deliberately in the areas that most gate your progression, and we will be direct with you about what is working and what is not.
THE TOP 5 THINGS WE WANT TO SEE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR
  • Shipped product outcomes that matter. By the end of your first year, you will have shipped work that meaningfully moved a metric or unlocked a capability.
  • Genuine product judgment in imaging. You have moved from learning the domain to having real points of view about it. Senior team members are asking for your take on domain questions.
  • AI mastery that raises the team's bar. You are using AI across your workflow at a level that other PMs learn from. The way you work influences how the broader product function operates.
  • Trust across engineering and design. Your engineering and design partners view you as a credible collaborator whose PRDs, prioritization decisions, and feedback improve their work.
  • Visible growth. Your capability at the end of year one is meaningfully greater than at the start, and you can articulate that growth concretely, with specific examples of decisions, artifacts, and instincts that have sharpened.

WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING TO THE TABLE
  • One to four years of total professional experience. That time could have been spent in an APM or Associate role at another company, in an adjacent role with real product surface area (founder, early operator, technical or design contributor with product ownership), or in a different discipline you are now pivoting from. What matters here is total career stage, not just product career stage: this program is built for early-career professionals
  • Deep familiarity with the discipline of product management. You have gone well beyond the introductory content and can speak concretely about frameworks and specific approaches you use. You are ready to be assessed as someone with 1,000+ hours of intentional development in the craft.
  • AI-native skills as a baseline. You are past the "AI as prompt assistant" stage. Your PM workflow, including discovery, research synthesis, data analysis, drafting, prototyping, competitive scans, and evaluation of AI outputs themselves, has been rebuilt around AI as a core instrument. You can demonstrate this concretely, and you will be asked to. Applicants still learning to prompt effectively will not be competitive.
  • Strong analytical instincts. You've directly queried raw data to solve business problems.
  • Excellent written communication. You can turn a fuzzy problem into a clear PRD, and you value outstanding exposition.
  • A trajectory-first mindset. You see this program as one step on a longer path toward product leadership or founding.
  • Prior experience or a genuine interest in healthcare technology, medical imaging, marketplaces, or interoperability is a plus, though not required
HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU

We have a short four part process:
  • Introductory call with our Senior Talent Partner, approximately 30 minutes by phone.
  • Video call with the hiring manager, approximately 45 minutes - a technical interview that will test product strategy.
  • Assessment stage, which will include a hands-on demonstration of your PM workflow with AI as a core instrument, along with an exercise focused on product execution.
  • Values assessment with our Chief Technology Officer and Chief Product Officer.
  • Offer!
WHAT WE OFFER
We go beyond the basics with our benefits package. We believe great work starts with supporting our people. Here's what you can expect from us:
  • Salary range of $110,000 - $120,000
  • Flexible remote or hybrid work options
  • Dedicated personal development budget
  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage
  • 28+ days of paid time off across PTO and wellbeing days, so you can show up at your best
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401k retirement plan
  • All the equipment you need to do your best work
  • Inclusive, people-first policies designed by our team, for our team
