The product manager will be the client's first product hire. Until now, product has lived with the founder and CEO, who spent his career as a product leader before starting the company. The product manager will take that work over directly, learn how he thinks about it, and make it their own. Associate is the title. The scope is a real product surface from day one, reporting straight to the CEO.
The product is the property damage claim itself, and everyone who touches it: the case managers and appraisers working files inside the system, the claimants waiting to hear about their car, the partner law firms who need to know what is happening without having to ask, and the carriers, body shops, dealerships, and rental companies on the other end of every call. The product manager will own the experience each of them has with the company.
Two things define the roadmap. First, self-service: firms and claimants should be able to submit, track, upload, and get answers without waiting on a person. Second, agents: AI agents working every stage of the claim, from qualification and loss of use through total loss, diminished value, and carrier follow-up, with people stepping in where judgment matters. The product manager will spec them, prototype them, ship them with engineering, and measure whether they worked.
The product manager will be hands-on. If building a working prototype in Replit over a weekend, walking a case manager through it on Monday, and handing engineering a spec that has already been stress-tested sounds like a good week, the candidate should keep reading.
What the Product Manager Will Do- Owns the end-to-end experience for every user of a claim: internal case managers and appraisers, claimants, partner law firms, and the carrier and automotive partners on the other side of the file
- Sits with case managers, listens to claimant calls, and reads firm feedback to find where the process creates friction, then fixes it
- Owns the self-service roadmap: intake, status tracking, document upload, messaging, and a support center that lets firms and claimants get what they need without waiting on the company
- Owns the roadmap for AI agents across the full property damage claim, from qualification and loss of use through total loss, diminished value, and outbound carrier follow-up
- Builds working prototypes in tools like Replit, puts them in front of real users, and turns what they learn into specs engineering can build from
- Partners with engineering to productize what works: writes the requirements, makes the tradeoffs, runs the sprints, and owns the rollout
- Defines the metrics for each user group (cycle time, touches per file, response times, satisfaction) and uses them to decide what the company builds next
- Shapes the case management system as it grows from an MVP into agents that execute the work themselves
- Works directly with partners on both the automotive tech and legal tech side (case management platforms, body shop networks, dealership and rental partners) to scope, build, and launch the integrations that connect the claim to their systems
- Takes product process off the founder's plate and builds the discipline the company runs on from here
What the Company Is Looking For- 2+ years in product management, or adjacent experience (operations, engineering, design, or founding something) where the candidate shipped software people actually used
- Insurance, legal, legaltech, or insurtech background strongly preferred. The candidate understands claims, or can learn them fast
- The candidate has built prototypes themselves in tools like Replit, Lovable, or Cursor and used them to get real feedback before writing a spec
- The candidate has shipped with engineering teams and outside partners, and can talk credibly about APIs, data models, and what makes an integration hard to build
- The candidate has worked on AI or agentic products, or has been building with LLMs on their own and can show the company
- The candidate obsesses over the user. They would rather watch someone use the product than read a dashboard about it
- The candidate writes clearly. Specs, tickets, and updates that people actually read
- The candidate wants to learn product from a founder who has done it, and is ready to run with more scope than the title suggests
- Based in Atlanta preferred; the company wants the candidate in the room
What the Candidate Will Get- Competitive salary and opportunity for equity
- Health, dental, and vision coverage
- Direct mentorship from a founder and CEO who built his career in product
- Ownership of the first product roadmap at a venture-backed company with product-market fit, with scope that grows as fast as the candidate does
