Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Robotics and Digital (RAD) Solutions is recruiting for an
Associate Performance Engineer - R&D Robotics. This role will be located in Cincinnati, OH & work a Flex/Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week on-site.
Purpose: As an Associate Performance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing the system-level performance of our innovative robotic medical devices. Working closely with engineers across various fields, you will design tests, develop testing strategies, and analyze data to ensure our devices meet performance requirements. Your expertise will be critical in driving the integration and optimization of robotic hardware and software, instrumentation, and control algorithms to deliver exceptional performance.
Key Responsibilities: - Design tests to accurately capture system performance relative to requirements.
- Define testing strategies that align with business and timing constraints.
- Write test scripts to capture and post-process test data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data analysis.
- Develop dashboards and data visualizations to interpret test data and guide decision-making.
- Collaborate with capital hardware and software engineers to ensure instruments meet performance requirements and facilitate seamless integration.
- Perform test method validation on formal verification test methods to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field is required.
- A minimum of 1+ years' experience in product development/design experience is required.
- Proven experience in test method development, data analysis, and root cause analysis is required.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for test automation and data processing is required.
- Basic mechanical design and analysis skills, including an understanding of mechanism design and machine elements are required.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills, with the ability to present technical information to engineering teams
- Ability to set and prioritize goals with general guidance from management
- Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required, including overnight stays
- Experience in the design, development, and commercialization of medical devices, with an understanding of their application in surgical procedures is preferred.
- Experience verifying medical devices according to regulatory standards, including FDA requirements, is preferred.
- Systems-based design experience, including integration of cross-disciplinary technologies such as mechanical, electrical, controls, and software is preferred.
- Experience using or developing with ROS 2, databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and cloud platforms are preferred
- Vision inspection and processing experience using Cognex or OpenCV is preferred
- Experience in SolidWorks is preferred
- Knowledge of statistical analysis software such as Minitab is preferred
- Experience creating dashboards for data visualization is preferred
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket is preferred

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :$76,000.00 - $121,900.00
