About the Role

VML is seeking an Associate Media Director to oversee and deliver media campaigns for a large client. This role works alongside a team of performance media experts to ensure client goals are met by creating and overseeing campaigns across selected channels (Paid Social, Display, Video, Native, OTT & more)
What you'll do:
  • Plan | Understand client goals and business objectives to translate into achievable Media KPIs. Match a client's business objective with targetable and relevant audiences and advise what media channels will be most effective to reach these Audiences.
  • Activation | Deep understanding of how to activate in specific media channel(s); define channel segmentation within platforms in order to achieve the objectives that are set out by the media plan; identify, understand and define scalability to ensure spend can increase effectively within a channel(s).
  • Operations | Identify cross channel and in-platform optimization needs and implement changes to level set performance; identify efficiencies within client channels to be more effective with media operations; approve media invoices against media platform spends; monitor and manage digital platform spend and performance pacing; work closely with other Media Managers and perform campaign check ins and ensure that all required campaigns are live/paused/ended; follow required operations department processes.
  • Performance | Work with wider media team and team to define KPIs and objectives for each brand, product, and service; work with analytics to ensure tagging is in place to track identified objectives, KPIs, and goals; lead Media Optimization meetings.
  • Communicate | Clearly articulate what success would look like for the team and continuously assure that the work is inline with a client's needs.
  • Collaborate | Work closely with the Paid Media Strategists and Campaign Managers to deliver on client goals and objectives. Integrate with other service line within the agency (Analytics, Account Management, and Project Management)

What you'll need:
  • 6+ years of paid digital media experience, agency experience highly preferred
  • Strong grasp of and ability to navigate digital tools and platforms, particularly in Meta, Linkedin, Pinterest, Tiktok (and other paid social tools) as well as Programmatic DSPs such as DV360, The Trade Desk (or other DSPs)
  • Experience in activating paid media plans that align to an overarching strategy.
  • Ability to utilize data to inform audience segmentation.
  • Understanding of paid media measurement and optimization
  • Experience managing/mentoring direct reports


The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
