Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

Hamilton Lane is looking to hire an Associate to join our Infrastructure and Real Assets Investment Team, with the position to be based in Conshohocken, PA or Portland, Oregon. This role provides diverse exposure across private equity infrastructure and natural resource related opportunities at a leading private markets solutions provider.

The investment professional will assist the deal leaders in sourcing, performing due diligence, and monitoring infrastructure and natural resource investment opportunities across minority directs, co-investments, secondaries and primaries. You will also be involved in other special projects, as necessary, under the direction of senior investment professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in all aspects of the investment process including sourcing, due diligence, structuring, negotiations, and closing on minority directs, co-investments, secondaries and primary fund investments.
  • Guide the work of Analysts in the due diligence process, while also assisting the senior members of the Infrastructure and Real Assets team with team resource allocation, managing day-to-day aspects of investment analysis, providing oversight of the functional team, and assisting in communication with investment sponsors and clients.
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of investment underwriting, providing oversight of the functional team, and assisting in communication with investment counterparties and clients.
  • Complete special projects, including client projects, industry analysis and geographical studies, as necessary.
  • Create and manage complex transaction models and distribution waterfalls.
  • The position will provide exposure to the top private equity infrastructure firms in the industry and diversified exposure across transaction types and sectors.

Qualifications:

Must-haves:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in (1) private equity; (2) investment banking, transaction services, or consulting; (3) commercial roles in a relevant industry (i.e., data centers, fiber, renewable energy, utilities, transportation, etc...). relevant investment experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S., or B.B.A.)
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills
  • Demonstrated mastery of financial modeling
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and measurable success as a strategic thinker
  • Ability to take initiative, be self-directed and actively seek out information and resources to complete assignments effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Capacity to manage a busy workload, taking on multiple projects / investment work simultaneously, and flexibility to work more than 50 hours per week and occasionally on weekends
  • Commitment to contribute to the firm's growth and accommodate an extended work schedule when necessary
