Business Unit Overview: Digital Workplace Experience (ITSDX)

The Digital Workplace Experience unit encompasses the suite of end-user computing products for WBG's global workforce of ~30,000 users. Additionally, the team designs, delivers, maintains, and provides advisory services for AV/VC systems, and supports special events. Products and services include corporate PCs, printers, and mobile devices; AV/VC ecosystems; high-profile event support (Annual and Spring Meetings, etc.).

Duties and accountabilities:

Role Overview


The Associate Infrastructure Engineer supports the design, implementation, modernization, and optimization of AV/VC infrastructure and smart workplace technology across conference centers, meeting rooms, event spaces, and hybrid collaboration environments.

With limited supervision, the role contributes to scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective AV/VC solutions by supporting infrastructure design, system integration, monitoring, automation, vendor coordination, procurement activities, and project delivery. The role works closely with ITS teams, Facilities, Corporate Procurement, AV/VC consultants, integrators, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure AV/VC platforms and smart space technologies meet operational, security, performance, and business requirements.

AV/VC Infrastructure Design and Implementation
• Support the design, implementation, and modernization of AV/VC infrastructure across conference centers, meeting rooms, smart rooms, and hybrid collaboration spaces.
• Assist in developing scalable and reliable AV/VC solutions, including video conferencing systems, displays, audio systems, control systems, room scheduling, digital signage, and smart space technologies.
• Review and validate AV/VC system design; ensure alignment to organizational standards.
Program, Project, and Delivery Support
• Support AV/VC modernization initiatives across major conference centers, meeting spaces, and workplace technology projects.
• Assist with project planning, implementation tracking, issue resolution, testing, commissioning, and operational handover.
• Monitor project activities against scope, schedule, budget, and delivery milestones.
• Help identify risks, technical dependencies, and delivery challenges, and support mitigation planning.
• Prepare project documentation, status updates, technical summaries, and implementation reports for stakeholders and leadership.

Procurement, Vendor, and Contract Support
• Support preparation and review of procurement documentation, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, IFBs, technical requirements, scopes of work, and single-source justifications.
• Coordinate with Corporate Procurement, project teams, consultants, and vendors to support compliant and timely procurement processes.
• Assist in reviewing vendor proposals, technical submissions, equipment lists, and service agreements.
• Support vendor coordination during design, installation, testing, commissioning, and support transition activities.
• Ensure technical and contractual requirements are clearly defined and aligned with project goals and organizational standards.

Stakeholder Coordination and Communication
• Coordinate with ITS, Facilities, Corporate Procurement, AV/VC consultants, integrators, vendors, event teams, and business stakeholders.
• Support clear communication of project status, technical risks, dependencies, and operational impacts.
• Assist in translating business needs into practical AV/VC technical requirements.
• Provide knowledge-based guidance to junior staff and support capability development across the AV/VC team.

Selection Criteria

Education and Experience
• Master's degree with 5 years of experience or a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of procurement policies, contract negotiations, and project execution methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• SAFe certification is required.
• Experience with AV/VC infrastructure, smart rooms, Ciscospaces & wayfinding, conference center modernization, collaboration platforms, infrastructure engineering, procurement support, and project delivery is required.
