Full Job Description
Associate General Counsel II

The Associate General Counsel II job assists in protecting an organization's rights, obligations and privileges and its legal interests by providing legal direction to organization and by ensuring the legal activities meet the current and future needs of the organization. This job provides legal advice/counsel in business-related areas of expertise (e.g., corporate law, real estate, tax, business litigation, transactions/anti-trust, compliance, intellectual property, employment/labor, corporate governance, ethics, etc.).

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Protects the organization's rights in contract negotiations, settlements, and litigation.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and addresses issues of legal risk.
  • Researches, analyzes, and interprets proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations.
  • Advises management on recent changes in laws and regulations that affect the company.
  • Liaises with external legal counsel on complex legal issues.

  • 7+ years of experience in commercial law drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, with significant experience in technology transactions
  • Strong judgment on the legal and commercial issues that arise in technology contracting
  • Curiosity and confidence to ask questions, understand how a technology works and how it will be used, and translate that understanding into the contract
  • Experience with AI, data, digital products or other emerging technologies is a plus
  • Financial services or other regulated-industry experience is a plus

Base Pay Range: $234,000/yr - $279,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
