Position Overview

Freddie Mac's Single Family Real Estate Team is seeking a senior transactional Attorney to lead and advise on complex financing, acquisition and other strategic transactions. This role offers the opportunity to handle law-firm-caliber transactional work in-house, with substantial ownership, and direct partnership with business leaders and counterparties.

Your Impact

You will serve as lead counsel and trusted advisor on a broad range of complex transactions, including:
  • Structuring, negotiating and documenting secured financing and other strategic transactions
  • Advising on intercreditor arrangements, participations, syndications, collateral structures, lien perfection and insolvency-related issues
  • Negotiating and documenting financing, transfer and other transaction agreements
  • Advising on portfolio acquisitions, servicing transfers and counterparty strategic transactions, including M&A-related matters
  • Translating complex legal issues into clear, practical advice for senior business stakeholders
  • Helping develop and implement new transaction structures and solutions


Qualifications
  • JD and active bar membership in good standing
  • Minimum 10 years of transactional experience at a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Significant experience in one or more of the following: secured finance, structured finance, private credit, leveraged finance, corporate / M&A, asset-based lending, real estate finance, or other complex transactional practices
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and judgment
  • Ability to lead transactions from structuring through closing and post-closing execution
  • Ability to deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of AI tools and technologies, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with advancements in artificial intelligence

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $231,000 - $347,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
