Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

Summary:

Are you looking to grow your career in the investment industry and be a part of a dynamic and exciting team environment? We are looking for candidates that can add value to our clients through their expertise, hard work and dedication. Lori Pinkowski, one of the top Portfolio Managers at Canaccord Genuity and a well-known financial expert in the media, is seeking a full-time Financial Planner and Tax Specialist to join her team and work in our downtown Vancouver office.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting meetings to learn more about clients, and their family’s overall financial situation so that you can prepare a personalized financial plan;
  • Present comprehensive financial plans directly to clients (using Conquest software);
  • Provide recommendations to address client specific needs or concerns in the areas of financial, investment, retirement, risk management, tax and estate planning;
  • Personalize each financial plan to provide expert knowledge around challenges affecting affluent clients, such as: RRSP contributions, income projections, transition of wealth discussions, various corporate structures, employee stock options, charitable giving, etc.;
  • Analyze clients unique tax situations to provide strategies such as: RRSP & RRIF withdrawals;
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through ongoing communication, including client meetings, phone calls, emails, and addressing day-to-day client inquiries;
  • Prepare personal and corporate tax packages for clients;
  • Participate in media and marketing driven projects about financial planning and investing.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Completion of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation required;
  • Three years of relevant experience in all aspects of financial and/or tax planning;
  • Experience with planning software: Conquest is a major asset;
  • Experience with planning software: NaviPlan is an asset;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation skills;
  • Investment industry knowledge required;
  • CPA designation is an asset;
  • Insurance industry knowledge or license (LLQP certification) is an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in team environments.
