PGL, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Associate Engineer- Field Operations in our Chicago, Illinois Central Shop (Zip Code: 60632) location.
Job SummaryDistrict Operations is responsible for field related aspects of the distribution of natural gas to PGL customers. This includes Operations, Maintenance, and Construction activities.
As a Engineer, you will learn to:
- Work with a variety of analytical software to provide solutions to improve efficiency of natural gas transmission and distribution systems
- Monitor progress against compliance due date and year-end targets
- Understand the operation of gas facilities to properly supply natural gas to customers
- Develop knowledge of the installation process of new facilities and the retirement of existing ones as a part of new pipeline construction program
- Ensure we are delivering a quality service to our customers
- Work with various stakeholders and provide input on technical engineering aspects of projects
This position is part of the Engineering job family (Associate Engineer, Engineer, and Senior Engineer). Experience will be the determining factor.
These positions are part of our engineering rotation program. This provides our Engineers opportunity to learn a variety of engineering functions.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (December 2026 Graduates will be considered)
- The Associate Engineer requires: 0-2 years relevant engineering experience
- The Engineer requires: 2-5 years relevant engineering experience
- The Sr Engineer requires: 5+ years relevant engineering experience
- Must meet company standards for driving and maintain a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Project/process management experience

Pay Range Minimum: $68,436.68
Pay Range Maximum: $135,761.08
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
