Sacramento as a Systems Data Lead/BIM Manager.
Work as part of the integrated High-Speed Rail Systems Engineering project team, the successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Director of Rail Engineering. This position will define, implement, and manage the BIM strategy for Rail & Systems disciplines on the California HSR project.
The BIM Manager will coordinate the production, management, and integration of digital models (BIM) across various teams and disciplines (track, OCS, signaling, telecom, etc.) while ensuring BIM deliverables comply with project requirements, international standards, and client expectations.
You'll be responsible for performing project BIM and Information Management functions for major transportation infrastructure projects and will be well versed in information management process and have previous experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams in all aspects of information production, delivery and exchange.
Key Accountabilities You'll be responsible for ensuring that models meet BIM Level 2 standards and that the design team understands the level of information required to meet expectations;
- Lead BIM meetings, train, and support teams in the use of BIM tools and processes.
- Manage BIM interfaces with other project areas (civil works, equipment, operations, etc.).
- Ensure the quality, traceability, and security of digital data.
- Establish and monitor BIM performance indicators.
- Prepare BIM documentation (standards, conventions, procedures)
- Support and maintenance of BIM and CAD application software;
- Assists with managing the development and output of document sets for the CAHSRA Project.
- Performs project setups and updates with some direction of Rail Operations and Delivery Branch staff with some supervisory guidance.
- Implement drawing organization for large, complex drawing packages.
- Participates in Civil 3D/Revit development.
- Develops and mentors staff on standards and processes.
- Self-Checks own work, and staff's, to identify QA/QC improvement opportunities.
- Leverages tools and technology to provide quality solutions to BIM team and staff
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications You'll have relevantknowledge of Enterprise Digital Strategy design and implementation. Portfolio Management, Enterprise Architecture, Stakeholder engagement, and negotiations. Asset Management best practice, rail infrastructure asset management, and asset management technologies, including EAM-IS, CMMS, GIS (and other related software systems).
- Engineering degree or master's in civil engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant years' experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects.
- At least 5 years of experience as a BIM Manager on major infrastructure projects and at least one year experience on railway projects.
- Advanced proficiency in BIM tools and methodologies (Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, etc.).
- Proven experience in BIM project management for railway and complex systems projects.
- In-depth knowledge of railway systems (track, OCS, signaling, telecom, etc.).
- A clear understanding of our multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality, throughout all design stage gates
- Experience of Implementing BIM Level 2 Accreditation / Certification to ISO 19650 within a Business Environment
- Excellent understanding of all relevant BIM standards, design integration procedures and relevant legislation
- Knowledge of Revit, BIM360, ProjectWise, Autodesk Civil 3D, and other BIM support tools;
- Working experience with ISO 19650 BIM standards;
- Established understanding of BIM quality assurance guidelines and standards;
- Previous experience with supporting National and/or Regional BIM standards;
