As a
Revenue Cycle Management Systems and Analytics Associate Director, you will be responsible for managing a team and optimizing the billing processes and systems used by the Screening Reimbursement team at Guardant Health. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes, resolving billing issues, and improving overall efficiency. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, lead the process for prioritizing initiatives within the department, and drive continuous improvement led by data analysis. The work will require understanding the key performance metrics, operational metrics, prioritization, and perseverance to results. Success will be measured by improvements in cash collections, time to collections and reducing operational costs as we scale.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage team of systems and data analysts including coaching, mentoring, and day-to-day support.
- Own the department portfolio of improvement projects and ideas within a framework that provides clarity, prioritization, and appropriate metrics for decision making that will impact the future of the department. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify system enhancement opportunities, influence broader development roadmaps and oversee implementation that applies to reimbursement.
- Provide technical guidance to the department and act as the subject matter expert on process improvements.
- Ensure the appropriate data is being provided and used for performance monitoring and improvement measurements.
- Analyze data and generate reports that will be shared with senior leadership to identify trends and issues.
- Stay up to date with billing industry trends and best practices in billing systems and processes
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Translate enterprise business strategy into functional roadmaps and execution plans in support of company priorities (KPIs, etc.).
- Develop multi-year capability plans supporting scale, automation, and growth.
- Serve as the owner for reimbursement vendor relationships, making recommendations regarding systems strategy, process governance, and major operational priorities.
- Governance examples for inclusion
- Establish governance for process improvement, portfolio prioritization, technology investments, and operational standards.
- Develop policies and enterprise standards for reimbursement operations.
- Ensure consistency of operational practices across all reimbursement functions.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of progressive experience in process improvement, analytics, and/or engineering leadership
- Proven track record of leading multiple operational project executions with impactful outcomes
- Solid understanding of insurance billing processes and regulations a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with demonstrated ownership of large-scale business transformation initiatives
- Experienced with Excel (statistical functions), data visualization tools (example of tools: Power BI, SFDC, Tableau), and capable of presenting data to senior leadership
- Ability to manage a portfolio of projects using trade-off methodologies to ensure strong return on investment

Hybrid Work Model:This section is applicable to onsite employees who are eligible for hybrid work location as specified by management and related policies. Guardant has defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. This range does not include benefits or, if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need.
Primary Location: Palo Alto, CA
Primary Location Base Pay Range: $200,900 - $276,250
Other US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $170,765 - $234,813
If the role is performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is: $180,810 - $248,625
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
