Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our CBOS S&C Technology team. This role focuses on creating and optimizing a technology infrastructure supporting settlement, clearing, and middle office processing functions. The successful candidate will leverage deep operational expertise to identify process improvements, manage technology initiatives, and solve complex business challenges within the S&C operations environment.

Key Responsibilities

The analyst will serve as a bridge between S&C operations teams and technology delivery which includes both in-house development and our Broadridge vendor systems. The role will involve translating business requirements into technical solutions. You will analyze current-state processes across settlement, clearing, and middle office functions to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation or system enhancement. You will own the definition of functional requirements for technology projects, validate solutions against operational needs, and support implementation and testing phases. Additionally, you will document complex workflows, maintain process documentation, and serve as a subject matter expert for operational stakeholders during system changes or incidents.

Required Experience and Qualifications

You must have a minimum of eight years of settlement and clearing operations experience at a top-tier financial institution. Your background should encompass settlement and clearing operations, middle office functions, or related roles that provide comprehensive understanding of the operations business model. You should demonstrate mastery of how operations function end-to-end, including client onboarding, trade processing, collateral management, reporting, and exception handling. Experience solving complex operational challenges-whether through process redesign, vendor selection, or system implementations-is essential. Experience with Broadridge settlement systems is a must.

Required Competencies

Strong technical acumen is required, though not necessarily hands-on development experience. You should be comfortable working with database structures, APIs, and system architecture at a conceptual level. You must communicate effectively with both operational and technical audiences, translating between business complexity and technical feasibility. Analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage ambiguity are critical. Finally, you should demonstrate intellectual curiosity about emerging technologies and how they might address longstanding operational pain points. Extensive experience using AI tools to aid in analysis and design a must.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with specific settlement or clearing platforms involved in prime brokerage operations, exposure to regulatory requirements affecting prime brokerage operations, knowledge of collateral management systems, and experience with process automation or RPA initiatives would strengthen candidacy.
