As an Associate Director, Retail Analytics, you will lead strategic client engagements across a portfolio of retail accounts while helping to develop a team of client-facing associates. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating complex business challenges into actionable analytic solutions.
This role is responsible for delivering exceptional client outcomes, fostering long-term client relationships, driving revenue growth through renewals and expansion opportunities, and ensuring the successful delivery of Retail Analytics solutions. You will partner closely with Sales, Operations, Product, Data Science, and Customer Success teams to maximize client value and strengthen NIQ's position as a strategic partner.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and become a trusted advisor on strategic business initiatives.
- Lead client engagements focused on retail performance challenges such as merchandising, pricing, promotion, and assortment.
- Present insights, recommendations, and business cases to senior client audiences, translating complex analytics into actionable business outcomes.
- Collaborate on the design, execution, and delivery of advanced analytical studies and strategic consulting engagements.
- Guide teams in developing integrated analyses, insights, and storytelling that support client business objectives.
- Provide subject matter expertise across merchandising analytics domains including pricing, promotion, assortment, and category management.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Operations, Implementation, and Data Science teams to deliver seamless client experiences.
- Provide client feedback and market insights to support solution enhancements and product innovation.
- Contribute to thought leadership initiatives and best-practice development across the Retail Analytics organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience within Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Retail Analytics, Market Research, or a related industry.
- Excellent bilingual written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in French within Québec and in English with internal team members and external clients outside Québec
- Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to translate data into business recommendations and client outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex client relationships and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience driving client retention and business growth.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Experience with NielsenIQ solutions and retail measurement data.
- Knowledge of pricing, promotion, assortment, category management, and merchandising analytics.
- Experience with SQL, Databricks, Python, or other analytical programming tools.
