Overview

Within Product Development (PD), Asset Leadership and Portfolio Sciences (ALPS) is responsible for delivering the portfolio of PD assets by aligning strategies, enabling decisions, and working together. One of the key goals of ALPS is to drive the development and execution of integrated CMC strategies to enable the BMS portfolio.

The Early Asset and Portfolio Integration team within ALPS brings together project planning and execution, portfolio management, business analytics, and strategic insights with the vision of simplifying how Product Development runs the business.

The Portfolio Insights and Decision Partner will partner with CMC Leaders, Asset Integration Leads, Therapeutic Area teams, and stakeholders across Product Development, PDS, and R&D to transform portfolio data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the PD-SCOPE 5 Governance, a senior level PDS governance committee supporting the pre-launch development portfolio. Collaborate across the ALPS organization, and cross-functional partners, to build the agenda, report decisions and drive enterprise alignment.


  • Optimize PD-SCOPE governance performance through collaboration with teams and partners, guiding presentation content, story-telling, decision-making frameworks, data and scenario/options assessment. Monitor aggregate portfolio performance for eNPV and value creation derived from strategic investment decisions.


  • Synthesize complex portfolio data, trends, risks, opportunities, and strategic scenarios into executive-level insights and recommendations. Exploring diverse data, modality evolution, clinical recruitment data and trending information to inform PDS investment decisions in the pre-launch pipeline.


  • Develop presentations, visualizations, dashboards, and reports that communicate portfolio performance, strategy, and key business decisions to executive level leadership.


  • Leverage AI to optimize and simplify access to contextualized information. Drive continuous improvement in portfolio reporting and communication practices to enhance transparency and decision quality.


  • Collaborate with Asset Integration Leads, CMC Leaders, Development Teams, and analytics organizations to align portfolio data priorities and analysis goals.


  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners across the enterprise to understand business needs and proactively identify opportunities to improve portfolio visibility and decision support.


  • Engage with strategic therapeutic area teams represented within the BMS portfolio and apply knowledge to identify trends and opportunities in the CMC development space.


  • Manage portfolio data and systems using SharePoint, PowerApps, and related portfolio management platforms.


Experience / Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree with 10-12 years of relevant experience or a PhD with 8-10 years of relevant scientific and technical experience.


  • Experience working in portfolio management, business analytics, strategic planning, or related functions within the biopharmaceutical industry preferred. Familiarity with end-to-end CMC drug development.


  • Preferred proficiency in: SharePoint, React.js, Power BI, Microsoft PowerApps, Microsoft Office Suite, Python, R, SQL, Domino, Data visualization and analytics tools

Compensation Overview:

New Brunswick - NJ - US: $162,860 - $197,348

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture. For field-based and remote-by-design roles the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
