The Impact you will have in this role:

The Enterprise Storage Architect/Engineer is a senior technical leader within the Solutions Design Services (SDS) team, responsible for defining, standardizing, and evolving enterprise storage architectures across on-premises and cloud environments. In addition to architecture and delivery leadership, this role is expected to serve as a thought leader-helping shape enterprise direction, influence strategy, and represent best practices in modern storage, automation, and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Own and evolve enterprise storage architecture standards, design guidelines, and SDS reference architectures.
  • Design scalable block, file, and object storage solutions for enterprise workloads across hybrid environments.
  • Serve as a design authority in SDS architecture and design reviews, ensuring consistency, reuse, and long-term sustainability.
  • Drive automation-by-default and IaC-first delivery of storage provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Define standard observability patterns for storage platforms including metrics, logging, alerting, dashboards, and runbooks.
  • Architect data protection, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions aligned with business resiliency objectives.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools for anomaly detection, root cause analysis, capacity forecasting, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with compute, networking, security, OS, and container platform teams to ensure integrated enterprise solutions.
  • Produce high-quality documentation including standards, reference architectures, and operational guidance.
  • Provide L3/L4 engineering support for complex production issues, focusing on permanent remediation.
  • Act as a recognized subject-matter expert and thought leader for enterprise storage within SDS and partner organizations.
  • Contribute to enterprise storage strategy, modernization roadmaps, and long-term platform evolution.
  • Research emerging storage technologies, industry trends, and best practices, assessing applicability to the enterprise.
  • Represent SDS in architecture forums, governance bodies, vendor briefings, and technical communities of practice.
  • Author and socialize whitepapers, recommendations, and design position statements to guide decision-making.
  • Mentor engineers and architects, raising overall storage, automation, and observability maturity across teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for executive, architecture, and governance forums.
  • Experience treating storage as a programmable platform or service.
  • Experience integrating enterprise storage with containerized and cloud-native workloads.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-assisted operational or AIOps-style tooling.
  • Relevant vendor, SNIA, or cloud architecture certifications.
  • History of publishing, presenting, or leading technical initiatives across organizations.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.

Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC's mission to support the financial markets.
