The Associate Director of Compliance & Human Resources provides operational leadership for the Compliance and Human Resources departments. The Associate Director oversees assigned departmental functions, supervises staff, coordinates operational activities, ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies, and supports the implementation of organizational priorities. This position serves as an operational resource to leadership and assists in maintaining efficient, compliant, and effective department operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources and Compliance departments.

Supervises assigned Human Resources and Compliance personnel, providing leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development.

Coordinates departmental workflows and operational priorities to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant service delivery.

Ensures consistent application of Human Resources policies, employment practices, and Compliance Program requirements.

Serves as the Ombudsman, providing employees and individual's served with a confidential resource for reporting concerns, seeking guidance, and promoting ethical conduct.

Coordinates and facilitates the organization's Incident Review Committee, including meeting preparation, documentation, follow-up, and monitoring of corrective actions.

Assists with employee relations matters, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable employment laws.

Coordinates compliance investigations and monitors the implementation and effectiveness of corrective action plans.

Develops, coordinates, and delivers Human Resources and Compliance training and education programs for employees, supervisors, managers, and leadership.

Oversees compliance monitoring, auditing, and follow-up activities, and collaborates with operational leaders to address identified risks and opportunities for improvement.

Reviews departmental metrics, analyzes trends, and prepares reports as needed.

Assists with the development, implementation, and revision of Human Resources and Compliance policies, procedures, and operational practices.

Monitors changes in applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards and assists departments with operational implementation.

Coordinates responses to regulatory audits, surveys, investigations, and information requests.

Represents Human Resources and Compliance on organizational committees and multidisciplinary workgroups.

Assists with departmental budgeting, staffing, workload planning, and operational improvement initiatives.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required

5 years of experience in a compliance, human resources

Strong communication and engagement skills required

Detail-oriented

Ability to work with a diverse group of people required

Valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation required for regional travel
