About the Position: This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
The Associate Director of B.B.A. Admission plays a key role in advancing the Cox School of Business's undergraduate enrollment goals through strategic recruitment, personalized communication, and high-touch engagement with prospective students and key influencers. This position leads critical outreach initiatives, manages application review, and supports the success of on-campus recruitment programs and prospective student communications. By delivering operational excellence and fostering meaningful relationships across campus and beyond, the Associate Director enhances the visibility, reputation, and impact of SMU Cox's B.B.A. program.
Essential Functions: - B.B.A. Recruitment:
Participate in strategic recruitment and retention of BBA Scholars and Business Direct students. Develop recruitment relationships with prospective students and high school counselors through campus visits and individual communication. Own recruitment strategy implementation for assigned territories. Represent the program at recruiting events, including determining event content. - B.B.A. Admission: Evaluate applications for first-year and external transfer applicants to the Cox BBA Program. This process includes reading applications, making decision recommendations, participating in the admission committee, and taking a lead role in committee discussions for assigned recruitment territories .
- Program Management: In conjunction with the Director of BBA Admission, plan and execute on-campus recruitment events, including making decisions on which targeted events to attend. The Associate Director will operate with limited oversight to plan content and manage campus partnerships to execute these events, frequently in conjunction with the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
- Office Management: Work with the Director to develop the strategy and implementation of the Cox communication continuum for prospective students. Assess and provide recommendations for programming, print, online, and in-person communication efforts.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure operational excellence in daily responsibilities and actively contribute to preserving and enhancing the reputation and brand of the Cox School of Business by providing exceptional service to prospective students and families, supporting seamless event execution, maintaining accurate and timely communication, and collaborating effectively with campus partners. Track the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and use this data to adjust strategies as needed.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends to support admission and recruitment events.
- This role requires frequent travel.

Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Business or Higher Education. A Master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of five (5) years of work experience is required, with at least three (3) in admission and/or student service roles. Experience reviewing student admission applications is also required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with students, alumni, staff, faculty, and prospective students. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. A strong customer service orientation is essential.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite . Knowledge of PeopleSoft is preferred. Knowledge of the CRM system (i.e., Slate) desired.
