ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, MITES PROGRAMS, School of Engineering - MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES) , reports to the Executive Director and leads and develops a team of seven professional staff members to align programs across operational areas and to foster collaboration among team members and business partners to fully implement MITES' outreach programs; develops and monitors systems, workflows, and training to ensure the safety of students and staff; and manages the recruitment and onboarding of more than 100 seasonal program staff each year.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED : A minimum of five years of supervisory experience with direct reports, including performance management, and demonstrated ability to have difficult conversations when needed; experience in program planning and development; Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or education; and ability to work a varied schedule with evening and weekend hours, including in-person programmatic activities on Saturdays (16 sessions), summer residential (June and July), and virtual programming in the evenings when in session. PREFERRED : Advanced management and outstanding leadership experience: seven or more years in educational or nonprofit settings, including supervising other managers, overseeing budgets, strategic planning, and organizational growth; proven ability to thrive in dynamic, growth-oriented environments, with experience managing multiple priorities, meeting tight timelines, and scaling; and experienced with high school students and leading undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals; master's degree in education, public administration, higher education administration, nonprofits, or a related field equivalent; and experience at MIT.
