Full Job Description
The Associate Director, Americas Cloud & Data Center Lead is responsible for the design, engineering, and operations of our Hosting infrastructure across on-premise Datacenter, AWS and Azure landscape. This role closely partners with Global Cloud & Data Center Lead to ensure alignment with overall strategy and ensure solutions & operating model are able to meet business priorities across all functions/departments in Americas, while maintaining compliance with GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and applicable global regulations.
In addition, this role supports operationalization of Eisai's Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), and Eisai's Global Capability Center (GCC) in Vizag, India. The role also carries responsibility of managing 10+ million-dollar budget, commercial negotiation with partners, and financial reporting.

The role supports and enable strategic direction on technology selection, system integration, and governance across all hosting infrastructure, and is responsible for spend optimization, migration, and modernization programs in Americas region.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Americas Cloud & Data Center Operations
• Responsible for Operations of Cloud and Data Center Services including management of full

time, contractor and partner resources/engineers across all Hosting areas including Compute,

Storage, Backup, Database, Disaster Recovery & Infrastructure monitoring services.
• Lead 24x7 operations for hosting services, disaster recovery, including cost management.

Oversee IT Service Cost Delivery model for the portfolio with sound financial recommendations

and clear Total Cost of Ownership analysis.
• Responsible for supporting partner governance and ensuring Service Levels are met
• Owns Proactive Problem management for applicable services.
• Responsible for Americas/regional FinOps activities: implementation of tagging taxonomies, cost

allocation frameworks, chargeback/showback models, and cloud budgeting processes in

alignment with Global Cloud Strategy.
• Responsible for life cycle management of hosting infrastructure.

2. Americas Architecture Services & Engineering
• In alignment with Global Cloud & Data Center strategy, lead the implementation, engineering,

and operationalization of hosting and cloud infrastructure solutions across the Americas region.
• Ensure global architecture standards, landing zones, and governance frameworks are

consistently adopted within the Americas landscape.
• Adapt and optimize architectures, where required, to meet region-specific business, regulatory,

and performance requirements, while remaining aligned to global principles.
• Collaborate with the Global Cloud & Data Center Lead on architecture evolution, standards definition, and roadmap alignment. • Review and validate technical designs for Americas-specific solutions, ensuring compliance with global standards and local regulatory requirements. • Support implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation frameworks to drive standardization, scalability, and operational efficiency within the region.

3. Americas FinOps Governance & Financial Leadership
• Own and manage Americas-specific cloud financial performance across AWS and Azure, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
• Execute FinOps practices within the Americas region in alignment with global frameworks, including tagging strategies, cost allocation models, and showback/chargeback mechanisms.
• Drive region-specific cost optimization initiatives, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements while maintaining performance and compliance.
• Provide inputs into global FinOps strategy, tooling selection, and governance through collaboration with the Global Cloud & Data Center Lead.
• Support commercial discussions with cloud providers by providing regional consumption insights, forecasts, and optimization recommendations.
• Deliver regular financial reporting and insights for Americas leadership, aligned with global reporting standards.

4. Enabling Global Capability Center (GCC)
• Partner with the Global Cloud & Data Center Lead and GCC leadership to enable delivery of cloud and infrastructure services from Eisai's Global Capability Center (Vizag, India).
• Ensure effective consumption of GCC capabilities for Americas operations, including cloud engineering, FinOps, and platform services.
• Support knowledge transfer, transition activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure service quality and operational stability within the Americas region.
• Provide regional input into GCC capacity planning, prioritization, and service evolution aligned with Americas business demands.

5. Organizational Leadership & People Management
• Lead, manage, and develop Cloud, Data Center, and FinOps team, including direct and matrix-managed (60+) resources supporting regional operations.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, technical excellence, and continuous professional development.
• Collaborate closely with the Global Cloud & Data Center Lead and global teams to ensure alignment of priorities, resource utilization, and delivery standards across regions.
• Manage third-party vendors and managed service providers supporting the Americas region, holding them accountable for delivery against contracted SLAs, KPIs, and commercial commitments.
• Partner with Global Capability Center (GCC) leadership to effectively leverage offshore capabilities, ensuring seamless integration with Americas operations and consistent service delivery.
• Support resource planning, talent acquisition, and capability development for the Americas region, aligned with both regional demand and global strategic direction.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement, aligned with Eisai's hhc (human health care) philosophy and global IT standards.

Requirements

Education
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration or a related field (or equal years of experience)

Information Technology Experience
• 8+ years of overall experience in information technology
• 3+ years of experience as a cloud Architect
2+ years of experience in technical leadership roles for enterprise-scale application architecture and delivery
• AWS /Azure Solutions Architect Certifications
• ITIL Foundation certified with strong understanding of the ITIL framework.
• Excellent communication skills
• Nice to haves include Software development background (Perl, Python, Shell etc)
• Deep functional and technical knowledge of various cloud services
• Ability to clearly present knowledge and best practices to key stakeholders
• Working knowledge of LDAP, AD, SSO, Email Infrastructure, Web Services
• Experience with AWS and Azure all services required for Design and build Infrastructure solutions.
• Experience with AWS Control Tower/Azure Landing zone designs
• Experience in Networking, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Storage, Compute on AWS, Azure and Data centers
Design, Setup and configure big data platforms like Cloudera, AWS EMR, AWS Glue, Databricks, RStudio
and other tools.
• Experience in Designing and implementing scalability, failover, high availability, DR, capacity planning, security, and compliance.
• Backups and recovers tools.
• Hands-on professional level experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, containers
• DevOps automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelining, automated delivery models, Azure Devops, Cloud formations, ARM templates, GitHub
• Performance monitoring and tuning
Experience with Physical servers such as HP DL series, Sun Sprac, Dell Powerstore, Pure Storage Array, Dell IDPA, and Fabric Networking.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:
The annual base salary range for the Associate Director Infrastructure Cloud & Operations is from :$166,900-$219,000

Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
