The Associate Director, Event Security is responsible for supporting the operationalization and execution of the organization's executive and event security programs globally. The role supports the development and execution of a global event security strategy encompassing corporate events, executive-attended events, and special or high-risk events.
This position serves as a key operational security partner to executives, executive staff, Corporate Security, Intelligence, regional security teams, event stakeholders, and other cross-functional partners. The Associate Director is responsible for translating security risk information into effective operational plans and coordinating the resources necessary to protect executives, employees, guests, and company operations during covered events and executive activities.
The role requires significant operational expertise, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate effectively in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Event Security Planning & Operations
• Support the operationalization of executive and event security programs globally
• Support the development and execution of a global strategy for event security covering both corporate and executive-attended events
• Manage and drive security planning and implementation for key corporate events and special or high-risk events involving executives
• Conduct advances and provide onsite security coordination for corporate and executive-attended events as required
• Conduct venue, hotel, office, residential, and other site security reviews associated with executive protection and event security activities
• Develop comprehensive security plans that appropriately address access control, transportation, emergency response, protective operations, and other identified risks
• Support consistent implementation of event security standards across domestic and international locations
• Executive Security Support
• Serve as a point of contact for executives, executive staff, and associated functions regarding executive and event security matters
• Manage and execute security planning and implementation for high-risk executive business travel
• Coordinate executive protection requirements associated with corporate events, executive travel, and other covered activities
• Conduct security advances and site assessments in support of executive activities
• Maintain a high degree of discretion and professionalism when supporting executives and handling sensitive or confidential information
• Risk Assessment & Protective Intelligence
• Coordinate closely with the Intelligence team to conduct risk assessments for covered events and executive travel
• Ensure relevant threat intelligence and risk information are incorporated into event and executive security planning
• Partner with appropriate stakeholders regarding protective intelligence, executive risk assessments, and threat investigations
• Maintain situational awareness of evolving threats that may affect executives, corporate events, facilities, travel, or company personnel
• Adjust operational security plans and resources based on changes in threat, vulnerability, or operating conditions
• Incident, Emergency & Crisis Management
• Manage localized security incidents and emergencies affecting executives and company personnel during corporate events and executive activities
• Support security crisis management activities involving executives and corporate events as required
• Develop and maintain contingency and emergency response plans related to executive protection and event security
• Coordinate appropriate response resources and stakeholder communications during security incidents
• Support post-event and post-incident reviews and incorporate lessons learned into future planning and operations
• Policies, Standards & Program Development
• Develop and maintain executive protection and event security policies, standards, procedures, and standard operating procedures
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of consistent executive and event security practices globally
• Work closely with regional security teams to drive standardization of executive and event security services
• Maintain a strong understanding of executive protection, event security, and travel security best practices and benchmarking trends
• Identify opportunities to improve security processes, planning methodologies, operational capabilities, and service delivery
• Cross-Functional & External Partnerships
• Coordinate closely with Corporate Security and cross-functional partners regarding office security, travel security, event security, transportation, protective intelligence, executive risk assessments, and threat investigations
• Build and maintain effective relationships with company stakeholders and business partners
• Partner closely with regional security teams to support effective security operations globally
• Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with peer organizations and relevant government and law enforcement agencies
• Effectively communicate security risks, operational requirements, and recommendations to stakeholders at varying levels of the organization
• Vendor & Service Management
• Coordinate security vendors and external resources supporting executive protection and event security operations
• Ensure established service-level goals for executive protection and event security vendors are achieved for assigned activities
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure services are delivered in accordance with company expectations, established standards, and operational requirements
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure appropriate security resources are available for covered events and executive activities

Required Qualifications:
• 10+ years of event security experience
• Experience with event security at sporting events, in particular PGA events
• Demonstrated experience conducting security advances, site assessments, and operational security planning
• Knowledge of executive protection, event security, travel security, emergency response, and security risk management principles
• Ability to work effectively during emergency and crisis situations
• Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
• Solid verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter while also operating effectively within team environments
• Solid emotional intelligence, situational awareness, adaptability, and flexibility
• Ability to engage effectively and maintain solid relationships at all levels of an organization
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Travel & Availability:
• This role requires after-hours on-call availability and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as operational requirements dictate
• Domestic and international travel is required, sometimes on short notice, and the position may require up to 50% travel

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
