San Diego, USA- Remote

Position Summary:

The Associate Director, Collaboration & Web Services (M365 Platform Lead) is the accountable technology leader for Travere's employee-facing Microsoft 365 collaboration environment, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams as a collaboration platform, OneDrive for Business, the corporate intranet, enterprise search and findability, and selected Microsoft Viva capabilities.

Operating as a player-coach, the incumbent provides both leadership and hands-on technical execution for the Microsoft 365 collaboration platform. While Managed Service Providers support operational administration and project delivery, this leader is expected to maintain deep technical expertise and personally perform complex platform configuration, architecture, troubleshooting, and solution implementation as needed. The role provides technical oversight of MSP delivery while remaining capable of independently designing, configuring, validating, and optimizing enterprise collaboration solutions. The role owns the collaboration platform roadmap, intranet product direction, enterprise search and findability, and continuous improvement.

This role is expected to remain technically current and actively engaged in the design, configuration, governance, and optimization of the Microsoft 365 collaboration platform. Success requires balancing strategic leadership, vendor management, and hands-on technical execution to ensure sound technical decisions, validate Managed Service Provider deliverables, and deliver secure, scalable collaboration solutions.

This position partners closely with Productivity & Messaging Platforms, Corporate Communications, People Success, Information Security, Compliance, Legal, Records Management, Enterprise Architecture, and business functions to deliver a secure, compliant, discoverable, and adopted digital workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the long-term strategy, architecture, roadmap, and operating model for SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams collaboration, OneDrive for Business, the corporate intranet, enterprise search, and selected Viva capabilities.
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership for Microsoft Teams as a collaboration platform, including chat, channels, Teams-connected sites where appropriate, meetings as collaboration, guest access, and external collaboration; coordinate with Productivity & Messaging Platforms on telephony, calling, meeting-room technology, and shared policies.
  • Serve as the senior technical practitioner for the collaboration platform, performing hands-on configuration, engineering, and advanced troubleshooting while leveraging Managed Service Providers for operational scale and delivery.
  • Serve as product owner for the corporate intranet and enterprise search, directing backlogs, releases, information architecture, templates, publishing standards, taxonomy, search configuration, content ownership, and employee-experience measures.
  • Establish platform governance, architecture, identity, access, lifecycle, records, retention, and information-protection standards; work cross-functionally to support 21 CFR Part 11 and validation requirements where collaboration platforms support regulated electronic records or processes, and ensure platform activities align with applicable Sarbanes-Oxley controls, data privacy regulations, and Enterprise Risk Management requirements.
  • Lead migration remediation and platform modernization, including Egnyte-to-SharePoint cleanup, and oversee cross-functional initiatives from discovery and design through implementation, operational handoff, adoption, and value realization.
  • Partner with business leaders to translate collaboration, content-management, communication, and knowledge-sharing needs into clear recommendations and coordinate training, change management, and a network of site owners, Team owners, champions, and content stewards.
  • Direct Managed Service Provider and vendor delivery, including scope, statements of work, backlog and demand planning, service levels, change control, quality, performance, escalations, and knowledge transfer, while maintaining technical ownership of the platform and independently validating architecture, configurations, and implementation quality.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in enterprise collaboration, digital workplace, Microsoft 365 platforms, enterprise content management, or related technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as both the technical lead and hands-on engineer for Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms.

Additional Skills/Experience/Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will embody Travere's core values: Courage, Community Spirit, Patient Focus and Teamwork.
  • Deep working knowledge of SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams collaboration, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft 365 groups, Entra ID, enterprise search, information architecture, external sharing, lifecycle management, and Microsoft Purview.
  • Proven ability to lead through both technical expertise and strategic execution. This is not solely a vendor management role; the successful candidate is expected to maintain deep technical expertise and independently design, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies while directing Managed Service Provider resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish enterprise platform architecture, governance, operating models, roadmaps, and intranet product practices and to lead migrations, modernization, and Managed Service Provider delivery.
  • Experience with SharePoint Advanced Management, Microsoft Viva, Power Platform governance, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint Framework, PnP tooling, automation, or modern site provisioning; regulated-industry experience is preferred.
  • Well organized with strong executive communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills and the ability to lead through influence and manage shifting priorities in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
  • All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is expected to be 100% remote.
