Department Overview:

TD Innovation Partners (TDIP) is a full-service technology banking platform delivering bespoke, high-touch financial solutions to support technology entrepreneurs at every stage of growth from ideation to IPO and beyond. Our offering spans core banking and credit products, principal investments, and private banking services, designed to meet the evolving needs of high-growth innovators.

TDIP partners with leading venture-backed and technology companies across Commercial National Accounts (CNA), Commercial Mid-Market, and Small Business Banking. The team operates across the full life cycle, from early-stage venture-backed companies to complex syndicated transactions for late-stage private businesses, private equity-backed businesses, and publicly traded corporations. Leveraging deep sector expertise and strong structuring capabilities, TDIP delivers tailored credit and cash management solutions to meet the increasingly complex needs of our clients.

This is a great opportunity to join the CNA team at the heart of the innovation ecosystem. You will work closely with a highly experienced group, gaining real exposure to complex credit transactions while supporting some of the most interesting and fast-scaling companies in the market.


Primary Duties:

  • Managing a portfolio of technology banking clients.

  • Owning the credit underwriting and due diligence process including the overall preparation of financial models, credit and documentation, and principal investment applications.

  • Assisting the Director Capital Solutions and Relationship Manager with growing the portfolio by structuring competitive financing packages while maintaining a balanced view on risk mitigants and credit quality.

  • Engaging in client meetings with Relationship Managers to understand due diligence and make recommendations to internal and external decision makers.

  • Assessing credit risk in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, risk policies) to increase profitability and enable business growth.

  • Recommending credit applications to Directors and Risk Management.

  • Mentoring and assisting the Associates in monitoring and control activities of the portfolios, which include financial covenant tracking, internal bank tracking reports and ensuring the portfolios are managed against overall bank set targets.

  • Staying informed about market conditions and industry developments to contribute insights that enhance the bank's position in the technology sector.

  • Working and collaborating in a team environment and ensuring client expectations are met/exceeded.

Education/Accreditations:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance or other quantitative discipline.

  • MBA, CPA or CFA would be an asset.


Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of previous experience in Commercial Banking, finance or accounting.

  • Experience in the technology ecosystem will be advantageous.

  • Strong team player, who can work independently and enjoys a dynamic fast paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

  • Previous experience in modelling and Excel.

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • French is a plus.
