Job Title: Associate Director, Association Partnerships

Department: Council of Manufacturing Associations

Division: Association Partnerships

Reports To: Managing Vice President, Association Partnerships

FLSA/Level Status: Exempt

Summary:

The Associate Director, Association Partnerships is responsible for leading key elements of the National Association of Manufacturers' partnership programs with national and state industry association members. This role manages key functions including member engagement, communications, member services and provides project management and coordination for events and member convenings throughout the year.

This position requires an organized self-starter who can multi-task and handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in support of the NAM's Council of Manufacturing Associations programs and services. The position also supports the activities of the NAM's State Partners and Allied Associations as well as Division wide initiatives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Membership:
  • Manage and plan activities/content streams for CMA strategic communities (peer groups, advocacy, communications, operations, etc.)
  • Track and onboard incoming CMA members, including providing an orientation meeting and access to their member profile.
  • Maintain accurate membership records: including additions, deletions, name changes, title changes, email updates, as well as managing marketing preferences for all association partners.
  • Manage incoming member queries and requests and update members as it pertains to services, benefits, and marketing
  • Facilitate execution of member surveys.
  • Manage member onboarding processes and ensure all timelines are met for onboarding deliverables.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics related to membership growth and generate reports to inform member engagement strategy.
  • Track and help manage member invoicing, dues, and incoming speaker requests.
  • Develop briefing material for organization's leaders for key events and outreach opportunities with association partners
  • Draft correspondence to key members on behalf organization's leaders


Board & Event Management:
  • Oversee speaker and program logistics and co-lead project team for CMA's semi-annual leadership conferences and COSMA annual meeting.
  • Lead execution of Association Partnerships Annual Workshop.
  • Manage CMA Board logistics coordination including drafting board member communications, materials preparation, event scheduling and meeting facilitation.
  • Collect, analyze, and report member feedback on programs and events.
  • Lead coordination and provide administrative and project support to the CMA's various programs, events, and webinars.
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of all membership and communications efforts.


Communications:
  • Develop and manage Association Partnerships editorial calendar for all member outreach.
  • Leads member communications coordination including creating copy for emails, marketing materials, and other materials as needed.
  • Drafts and compiles content for member communications including weekly member updates.
  • Manage, update, and create content for CMA web presence and social media.
  • Other project and administrative support as needed


Advocacy:
  • Serve as liaison for the division with members of the organization's policy and government relations teams to coordinate advocacy engagement strategies for association partners


Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • N/A


Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of project management work experience, ideally within an Association
  • Must be articulate, well organized, self-motivated, and customer-service oriented
  • Experience initiating and developing client relationships in a membership capacity - customer-oriented mindset is key.
  • Competency with database, marketing, and sales automation systems is preferred.
  • Experience working with Salesforce preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, writing, and editing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in problem-solving, negotiation, and resolving conflicts.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to balance multiple deliverables.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a cross-departmental team.
  • Willingness to occasionally work nights and/or weekends
  • Light lifting required, must have the ability to lift and move 20 lb. boxes of literature and sponsorship/exhibit material.
  • Must be willing to travel to 3-5 events per year.


Salary Range: $78,000 - $100,000 annually. This salary range represents a good faith estimate of the lowest to the highest salary for this position. The final salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.
