Associate Digital Dentistry Engineer

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000k (Dependant on experience)

We are seeking an Associate Digital Dentistry Engineer to join our Software R&D team. This unique role is designed for someone with hands-on dental experience who is excited about technology and interested in building a career in software and product development.

Whether you are a dental lab technician, CAD/CAM designer, digital dentistry specialist, or production technician, this role offers an opportunity to apply your dental expertise while learning how modern software products are built. You will work alongside experienced engineers, product managers, and dental experts to help shape the future of digital dentistry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the voice of the customer and subject matter expert for dental workflows within our Software R&D team.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, designers, and clinicians to develop innovative dental technology solutions.
  • Help design, develop, test, validate, and improve software features used by dental labs and dental practices.
  • Analyze clinical and laboratory workflows to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Learn and utilize modern AI-powered development tools to prototype, test, and improve products.
  • Participate in software testing, quality assurance, and product validation activities.
  • Provide hands-on feedback regarding restorative, denture, aligner, surgical, and appliance production workflows.
  • Support product research and development initiatives through experimentation, workflow analysis, and customer-centric thinking.
  • Continuously develop your technical and software skills through mentorship, training, and collaborative projects.


Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
    • Dental laboratory technician
    • CAD/CAM designer
    • Digital dentistry technician
    • Chairside CAD/CAM specialist
    • Dental manufacturing or production technician
    • Similar dental workflow-focused role
  • Experience with digital dentistry technologies such as:
    • 3D printing
    • Dental scanning
    • CAD/CAM systems
    • Milling workflows
    • Digital restorative or appliance design
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Curiosity about technology and enthusiasm for learning new technical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to software development, scripting, automation, or technical projects.
  • Experience with exocad, 3Shape, Dental Wings, or similar dental design platforms.
  • Familiarity with intraoral scanners, dental fabrication (3D printing, milling, etc.), and digital workflows (CAD/CAM, PMS, etc.).
  • Experience using AI tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar technologies.
  • Completion of coding bootcamps, technical certifications, personal software projects, or equivalent self-directed learning.
  • Experience improving workflows, automating repetitive tasks, or building technical solutions within a dental environment.
