Department Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences
Responsibilities The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs serves in a leadership position, overseeing the operations of the Office of Academic Services and Intern Support (OASIS) in the College.
Leadership & Oversight- Supervising, assigning areas of responsibility, and evaluating all faculty and staff within the Academic Affairs unit (approximately 17 faculty and staff).
- Overseeing the unit's financial planning and budgeting activities.
Student Affairs- Serving as the Academic Dean for all student-related processes, which includes, but is not limited to: Advising students, faculty, and chairs regarding Grade Appeals and General Grievance processes.
- Advising the College Student Leadership Committee (SLC).
Academic Affairs- Serving as the Academic Dean and the College liaison for University-level entities, including the Office of Accreditation and Quality Assurance, the Office of Institutional Performance and Assessment, the Office of Faculty Development and Advancement, Undergraduate Studies and the Graduate School.
- Serving on multiple committees as the College representative for academic affairs.
- Maintaining the College Degree Program Inventory (DPI) and Certificate Program Inventory (CPI) with FSU IR. Assisting academic programs with new degree, major, and certificate proposals.
- Working closely with chairs, faculty, academic staff, and students regarding the College and FSU graduate and undergraduate policies and procedures.
- Overseeing the College curriculum committee and associated curriculum proposal process.
- Approving all Graduate Faculty Status, Graduate Teaching Status, and Co-Directive applications.
- Recruitment, Admissions, & Enrollment Management Data
- Overseeing all College academic affairs data processes, including analysis and reporting.
- Coordinating annual student Program Satisfaction Surveys.
- Assisting with design and maintenance of the College Data SharePoint site.
- Accreditation & State Program Approval (Office of Quality Assurance)
- Serving as FSU's Florida Department of Education Liaison for all educator preparation programs (Anne's College, Panama City, Fine Arts, and Music).
- Maintaining curriculum, policies, and procedures for all FLDOE approved educator preparation programs.
- Working with nationally accredited programs through assisting in the design and full implementation of student learning outcome assessment systems.
Working Environment- Promoting methods for communicating policies and procedures to faculty and academic staff; Supports department academic staff in all areas of academic affairs.
- Maintaining a congenial and collaborative relationship with all departments and academic support units within the College.
Teaching- Department responsibilities are limited to teaching and advising doctoral students.
- Teaching responsibilities equivalent to one course per academic year in the fall or spring semester for tenure-track candidates or two courses per academic year for specialized faculty candidates.
Qualifications - Earned doctoral degree in a discipline related to one of the academic units in the College.
- Demonstrated success in research and/or teaching, depending on the type of faculty line (tenured/tenure-earning or specialized teaching) sought.
- Prior experience in academic leadership at the program, center, institute, department, or college level.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-informed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience working with state-approved and/or nationally accredited academic programs.
- Prior experience developing new academic degree programs.

The Office of Academic Services and Intern Support (OASIS) is the representative office for the academic dean of the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. OASIS strives to provide students, staff, and faculty, with the tools and support needed for student success. OASIS serves as the central repository for all student records, monitors required academic milestones, provides academic advising and support for undergraduate students, collaborates with academic departments to provide academic support for graduate students, and serves as the primary liaison between current students and the Office of the Registrar, the Division of Undergraduate Studies, and The Graduate School. OASIS directly manages the undergraduate admission process and provides support to academic departments in the admission of graduate students. Additionally, OASIS works with educator preparation programs throughout the university to coordinate internship placements and field-based experiences with PK-12 schools and students.
