Job Description

The Associate Dean of Academic Affairs plays a critical leadership role in driving day-to-day academic operations, supporting faculty excellence, and ensuring outstanding student outcomes. In partnership with the Dean, this role helps execute the strategic vision for the BSN program while fostering a high-performing, student-centered academic environment.

You will lead faculty performance, ensure curriculum quality, and use data-driven insights to continuously improve teaching, learning, and program success-all while maintaining compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & Strategy
  • Execute academic strategy in partnership with the Dean to achieve BSN program goals
  • Actively support and implement curriculum changes and academic initiatives
  • Lead program expansion efforts and respond to evolving healthcare education needs
  • Align daily operations with Chamberlain's vision and strategic priorities

Faculty Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and retain qualified faculty to ensure program excellence
  • Directly supervise assigned faculty, managing schedules, workload, and performance
  • Lead performance management for full-time and visiting faculty through observation, evaluation, and feedback
  • Empower faculty to innovate and implement solutions that enhance student success

Curriculum & Student Success
  • Ensure curriculum delivery meets institutional standards and accreditation requirements
  • Analyze student success data to improve curriculum delivery, labs, simulations, and workshops
  • Support clinical placements and ensure appropriate resources for assigned courses
  • Remove barriers to student success by proactively identifying and addressing needs

Operations & Collaboration
  • Manage faculty and SLS scheduling, workload models, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate closely with other ADAAs, DAAs, and campus leadership
  • Collaborate with faculty and leadership on budget planning and capital requests
  • Serve as a professional liaison to boards, communities, and internal stakeholders

Compliance & Culture
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Embed Chamberlain Care principles and Covista culture into academic operations
  • Demonstrate ethical leadership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement

Qualifications

Education
  • Master's degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or related medical field (Preferred)

Experience
  • 2+ years in nursing education at the bachelor's level or higher (Required)
  • 2+ years in simulation and/or clinical experience development/participation (Required)
  • 2+ years of leadership experience (Required)
  • 2+ years in acute patient care (trauma, emergency, or medical-surgical) (Preferred)
  • 3-5 years in acute patient care environments considered a plus

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $95,000 and $120,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
