Associate Counsel - Real Estate & Construction

Qualifications:

  • Must possess Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredit law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the United States and be in good standing. Licensing in the State of Michigan is preferred.
  • Have at least one (1) year of legal experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in the State of Michigan.
  • Must possess strong contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and simultaneously.
  • Must possess strong written communication and organizational skills.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational stakeholders.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage commercial construction and renovation projects from planning through completion.
  • Serve as legal and operational liaison between internal stakeholders, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal senior leadership for identifying key design concept elements for projects and able to articulate to architect vendors for design documents and eventual permitting documents.
  • Support lease administration, property acquisitions, dispositions, and related transactions.
  • Coordinate contract execution, tracking, renewals, and compliance monitoring.
  • Coordinate permitting processes for construction, renovation, occupancy, and related activities.
  • Monitor and support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Provide legal research and analysis on operational, regulatory, employment, healthcare, and corporate matters.
