PAY RANGEThe Target Pay Range for this position is $96,900.00-$118,400.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $75,300.00 - $140,100.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE: As the Associate Compliance Manager, Fair & Responsible Banking, you'll play a critical role in helping ensure BECU delivers fair, equitable, and compliant experiences for our members. You'll partner across lending, marketing, risk, and compliance teams to identify, assess, and mitigate fair lending and consumer protection risks. Your work will help safeguard access to financial products and services while supporting compliance with key regulations such as ECOA, HMDA, the Fair Housing Act, and UDAP/UDAAP requirements. From conducting risk assessments to analyzing lending data and monitoring emerging risks, you'll help strengthen BECU's Fair & Responsible Banking Program and drive meaningful outcomes for our members and communities. You'll have the opportunity to influence business practices, shape compliance strategies, and help build the future of fair lending analytics at BECU.
To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA or VA. If you're located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. WHAT YOU'LL DO: - Regulatory Research & Guidance: Research laws, regulations, commentaries, guidance, and data related to fair lending and consumer protection requirements. You'll compile findings, analyze impacts, and present practical recommendations to stakeholders.
- Compliance Program Administration: Develop and maintain expertise in applicable federal and state regulations while helping evaluate policies, procedures, controls, and monitor activities that support the Fair & Responsible Banking Program.
- Business Partnership & Advisory: Collaborate with business unit partners as they design, enhance, and implement products, services, and processes.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct Fair Lending and UDAP/UDAAP risk assessments, evaluate controls, and identify emerging risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitoring & Testing: Perform ongoing compliance monitoring activities, review lending exceptions and targeted samples, and communicate findings to leadership and stakeholders.
- Data Analytics & Reporting: Review lending activity, complaint trends, HMDA-related data, fair lending analytics, regression outputs, and redlining reviews to identify potential disparities.
- Complaint Reviews: Analyze complaints for fair lending or consumer protection matters documenting risks, root causes, and remediation plans.
- Issue Management: Track compliance findings, corrective actions, and remediation efforts through resolution while partnering with business units to drive sustainable outcomes.
- Training & Communication: Review and support organization-wide training materials, job aids, and compliance communications to ensure accuracy and applicability.
- Vendor & Regulatory Support: Research and document program-related compliance requirements for vendors and support requests from regulatory agencies, auditors, consultants, and legal partners.
- Program Reporting: Prepare and contribute to accurate reporting on the effectiveness of the Fair & Responsible Banking Program for business leaders, the Enterprise Compliance Department, and governance committees.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience required.
- 2 years of compliance experience within a financial institution, or at a financial institution regulatory agency required.
Desired Qualifications: - CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) or NCCO (National Association of National Credit Union Certified Compliance Officer) designation or other recognized regulatory compliance certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification as part of ongoing professional development.
- Verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and ensure staff/member-related issues are handled in a fair, consistent manner.
- Organizational skills, with the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure compliance issues are resolved effectively.
- Experience with HMDA or fair lending software solutions, including data analysis, monitoring, reporting, and compliance with risk identification.
- PC skills (Microsoft Office), with the ability to learn new software and to summarize and present data in an effective manner.
- Experience with research and report formatting.
