Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation, construction, trucking, and premises liability.
• Licensure in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois or applicable federal court.
• Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Documented experience in insurance coverage with a minimum of 4 years of law licensure.
• Ability to provide writing samples, including deposition transcripts and motions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing an active insurance coverage practice in Chicago with regional scope.
• Own and oversee defense and prosecution of coverage matters from inception to trial in collaboration with a supervising partner.
• Demonstrate expertise in first-party insurance coverage, especially in property insurance matters.
• Draft substantive legal motions for state and federal courts, including motions for dismissal and summary judgment.
• Independently handle written discovery procedures, propounding and responding to insurance coverage inquiries.
• Conduct various depositions, including 30(b)(6) and those involving policyholders and contractors.
• Perform examinations under oath and conduct legal research while authoring coverage opinions for claims personnel.
