Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in insurance coverage litigation required, particularly in first-party coverage.
• Licensure in Illinois and U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois or applicable federal court.
• At least 4 years of law licensure with documented insurance coverage experience.
• Excellent organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated research and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a robust insurance coverage practice from the Chicago office, serving cases across the Midwest.
• Directly manage the defense and prosecution of coverage issues from inception to trial alongside the supervising partner.
• Utilize established knowledge in first-party insurance coverage with a focus on property insurance.
• Draft legal motions for state and federal courts, including motions for dismissal and summary judgment.
• Independently handle written discovery procedures and respond to targeted inquiries.
• Conduct 30(b)(6) depositions, including policyholders and other pertinent parties.
• Perform examinations under oath and prepare coverage opinions for claims adjusters and in-house counsel.
