Job Description

As an Associate - Market Risk Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Market Risk Management department. Your responsibilities will include monitoring real-time and end-of-day risk exposures, analyzing portfolio risk, and building risk reporting tools. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with senior risk managers and trading desks, contributing to the firm's risk management strategies across various financial instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor market risk exposures for domestic and international equities trading desks.
  • Support model integrity and back-testing for risk controls, including VaR and stress metrics.
  • Analyze and validate equity stresses, Greeks, and VaR results.
  • Build and maintain risk reporting tools using GUI, SQL, Excel/VBA, and AI technologies.
  • Prepare daily and weekly risk summaries and support regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with front-office trading desks to review limit usage and strategies.
  • Proactively monitor and investigate deviations in trading activity.
  • Track and reconcile P&L attribution with risk factor movements.
  • Support multiple products/strategies, including equity options and OTC market making.
  • Ensure adherence to internal risk policies and regulatory standards.

Salary: $75,000 - $92,000 plus bonus

The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis considering a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
