Responsibilities
Drive Profitability
- Calculate aggregate state rate indications
- Analyze state profitability at a segmented level and Identify areas of opportunity and challenge
- Recommend rate changes or other actions that will provide the right balance between profitability and growth.
- Provide actuarial support for quick rate filing approvals, ensuring rate filings are compliant with state regulations
- Communicate results and insights to Product and other business partners to gain consensus on a go-forward plan of action
Performance Monitoring
- Develop, enhance, and maintain dashboards to track Workers’ Compensation results
- Track relevant economic trends and industry benchmarks
- Price large, high deductible and excess Workers Compensation accounts
Additional Contributions
- Actuarial research projects
- Planning
- Reinsurance pricing
- Support crossline of business sales and pricing initiatives
- Partnering with the Modeling team to assess predictive model outputs
Qualifications
- BS, BA or higher degree
- ACAS or close and pursual of FCAS
- 4+ years of property-casualty commercial lines insurance experience
- Workers Compensation pricing experience is strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills are a must
- Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, and SQL. R or Python knowledge is a plus
- Ability to build strong relationships and enrich our positive team culture
