Reports to: Chief Analytics Officer

The role:

We are seeking an Associate -Actuary to join Augment Risk. This role offers strong exposure to both the analytical and transactional sides of the business, with a focus on structuring and placing reinsurance programmes and delivering efficient capital outcomes for clients.

You will work closely with brokers and clients, supporting deal execution while contributing to portfolio analysis, pricing, and strategic advisory. The role also provides the opportunity to support the development of internal models, tools, and the broader technology strategy, while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the structuring and placement of reinsurance programmes, focusing on optimal and efficient capital solutions for clients
  • Analyse client portfolios to inform pricing, structuring, and strategic recommendations
  • Prepare clear, concise, and high-quality analytical materials for client discussions and market engagement
  • Collaborate with brokers, clients, and reinsurers to execute transactions and respond to queries in a timely manner
  • Provide insights on portfolio performance and support ongoing client advisory work
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of actuarial models and analytical tools
  • Support the development of the team's technology and data strategy
  • Manage, mentor, and develop junior analysts, including reviewing work and supporting their technical and professional growth

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in actuarial or related analytical roles within the reinsurance/insurance space.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint essential
  • Progression through actuarial exams is highly desirable
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL, or similar) desirable
  • Understanding of reinsurance structures, pricing, and capital management is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
