This software engineering position is within the Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) business area where we develop and build air and ground vehicle, flight and maintenance training simulators for military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high fidelity weapon systems and full-flight training systems including full visual, motion and simulator interoperability.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, documentation, development, debug and test of real time for simulated Aircraft Systems.
- Assist in development detailed software specifications and provide accurate time estimates for the software development
- System modeling, scientific programming
- Apply knowledge to Product domain, Requirements, Design, Development, Test and Release software processes, tools, methods and coding best practices with primary emphasis on software design and development
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to incorporate the appropriate Collins Aerospace processes and tools into product development, resulting in increased product quality and improving customer satisfaction
- Design, code, integrate, regression test, test and document
- Perform software debugging using appropriate techniques and tools
- Performs in cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systems
- Provides engineering estimates for own work on tasks similar to those previously performed
- Contribute to software engineering requirements capture, analysis and creation for well-defined software designs
- Support and enhance existing software products as necessary
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
- Experience with developing applications C, C++, C#
- Experience with software engineering concepts and the software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, test, support)
- Visual Studio and/or Eclipse
- Experience with utilizing MS Office Applications.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Willing to travel up to 25% of their time
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD security clearance
- Experience with game development using Unreal Engine
- Familiar with Windows/Linux development
- Scripting Languages Knowledge (Python, Perl, etc.)
- Experience with DevSecOps
- Experience with Graphical User Interface (GUI) design/implementation

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
