Clinical Operations partners across Lilly to advance modern, technology-enabled clinical trials that improve speed, efficiency, and the experience of patients, providers, and study teams.

The Solution Manager for Clinical Operations serves as the technology delivery partner for one or more clinical solutions supporting key business capabilities across Lilly's trials. Working within established strategy and roadmaps, this role drives delivery and service excellence and ensures solutions are compliant, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Clinical Operations stakeholders to translate solution strategy and roadmaps into delivery plans and measurable outcomes for assigned solutions.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned solutions, including delivery, validation, service transition, operations, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery with business, quality, security, architecture, and vendor partners to ensure solutions are compliant, scalable, and fit for purpose.
  • Manage operational health through governance, issue resolution, service performance, risk management, and day-to-day vendor oversight.
  • Support investment and prioritization decisions by building business cases, evaluating trade-offs, and balancing value, cost, and risk.
  • Apply AI and automation capabilities to assigned solutions, identifying and delivering practical use cases that improve efficiency, quality, and user experience.
  • Promote standard ways of working and continuous improvement within the assigned solution area.


Basic Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years experience in solution delivery, technology delivery, or service ownership, ideally within pharmaceutical, clinical, or other regulated environments.
  • Working proficiency with AI and automation, including hands-on familiarity with how AI-enabled tools and capabilities are applied to deliver and improve technology solutions.
  • Experience managing complex vendor solutions and external partners to deliver reliable, compliant, and high-quality solutions and services.
  • Experience delivering technology solutions end-to-end, including planning, implementation, validation, operational support, and continuous improvement.


What You Should Bring

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business collaborators to support strategy, define roadmaps, prioritize work, and deliver measurable business value.
  • Good communication and influence skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, quality, compliance, and technology teams.
  • Clinical experience strongly preferred - supporting Clinical Operations capabilities such as patient engagement, decentralized trial technologies, site-facing solutions, eCOA, eConsent, or related platforms.
  • Knowledge of GxP, computer system validation, data integrity, and applicable regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, and GAMP 5.
  • Experience identifying and delivering practical AI, automation, or digital innovation use cases that improve efficiency or user experience.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-vendor or integrated solution landscapes within a global enterprise environment.
  • Experience with service management, operational governance, and vendor performance management.
  • Experience with Agile, hybrid, or product-oriented delivery models and tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, or MS Project.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent service management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical collaborators.


Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$124,500 - $182,600

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
