Job Description

Serve as the Chief Medical Officer's deputy and will represent the CMO office in a range of leadership committees, projects, and operational meetings. The Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) will have secondary responsibility for the CMO office role in Patient Safety and Quality, Risk Event Reviews, as well as Utilization Review and the Physician Advisor Program. For purposes of clarity, the duties and responsibilities comprising the Associate CMO Services are non-clinical in nature.

  • Leads implementation and ongoing monitoring of the Quality and Patient Safety Plan in partnership with the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Co-chairs the Quality Improvement Committee, driving performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures clinical processes are effective and addresses gaps through protocols, guideline s, and care pathways.
  • Oversees continuous quality improvement efforts aligned with internal and external benchmarks.
  • Reviews safe ty events and participate s in root ca use analyses, ensuring timely
    corrective actions are implemented.
  • Identifies and responds to patient safety trends to proactively mitigate risk.
  • Monitors patient safety, satisfaction, risk, and utilization data, developing targeted improvement plans.
  • Collaborates with system leadership and participate s in k e y quality, safety, and infection prevention committees.
  • Promote s accurate clinical l documentation through collaboration with providers, coders, and documentation specialists.
  • Integrates patient experience priorities into quality initiatives to enhance overall care delivery and outcomes.


Qualifications

Required:
1. Medical degree with board certification
2. Post-graduate business management degree preferred
3. Certified Physician executive desirable

Five to seven years of progressive experience in medical staff administrative
leadership preferred

License
