HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DOThe Assistant Vice President for Student Life serves as a senior leader within the Student Engagement/Student Success division and advances institutional goals related to student success, retention, belonging, and campus engagement while fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus community.
- Provide strategic leadership for directors and senior staff of multiple Student Life departments responsible for belonging and inclusion, campus programming and traditions, civic engagement, college-to-career focused student employment and student leadership opportunities, fraternity & sorority life, leadership and service, student governance, student organizations, student involvement, student media, and the student center.
- Serve as the lead advisor to the 6-campus Student Government Association, advising the officers in advocacy, services, involvement in university governance and legislative initiatives.
- Works with the Director of Marketing & Media for Student Engagement and Student Life staff to design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive marketing and branding strategy to increase the use of Student Center facilities and participation in Student Life sponsored programs and engagement with the University.
- Manage divisional budgets, personnel allocations, and resource planning.
- Lead operations to ensure best practices in event and facility management (including university-wide use of 25Live reservation software), and other efforts that support the mission of the University.
- Oversee policy development, risk management, and compliance activities related to student organizations and events.
- Represent Student Life on institutional committees and executive leadership groups.
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Facilities, Residence Life, and other campus partners to enhance student success.
- Lead assessment efforts and utilize data to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications:Minimum Requirements: - Master's degree and five years of related experience in a higher education institution.
Preferred Hiring Requirements:- Doctorate in higher education
- Experience supervising directors and professional staff.
- Demonstrated success managing significant budgets
- Assessment and strategic planning expertise
- Experience with crisis management, policy development, and student conduct/risk issues.
