Title: Mgr, Assistant Unit (RN) - Main OR

Location: Long Beach, CA

Department: Surgery Services

Status: Full-Time

Shift: Days 10 hrs.,

Pay Range - $ 64.39 -$96.58

Bonus: $10,000.00 signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.

Position Summary:

This RN, Assistant Unit Manager(AUM) position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission ofMemorialCare - Long Beach. The employee will supportthe ORstrategic plan and demonstrates active support and participation in Lean initiatives for continuous performance improvement, patient safety and patient centered care.The RN, Assistant Unit Manager (AUM) is responsible for operational issues of the patient care department during their assigned shift. The RN, Assistant Unit Manager (AUM) is responsible for directing and coordinating all operations of the department according to the policies, procedures, standards and standard work that guide the processes for the assigned department. Responsibilities include the assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation of individuals and processes for the department to ensure consistent high-quality, cost-effective patient care. The RN, Assistant Unit Manager (AUM) has the responsibility to manage material and labor resources as defined in the departmental annual budget. The success of the department is inherent in the incumbent's ability to demonstrate positive, professional communication with patients, families, physicians, departmental and interdepartmental staff to optimize workflow and to facilitate problem identification and resolution.

  10. Promotes and participates in activities designed to support organizational excellence and growth.
  11. Demonstrates active support of the Journey to nursing excellence.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.


*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
